About James 1

James opens his letter counting trials as joy, because tested faith produces patience — and the God who gives wisdom liberally to all who ask in faith. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights; believers are to be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, and to be doers of the word and not hearers only, practicing religion that is pure: visiting orphans and widows and keeping unspotted from the world.
