And it came to pass when they brought them out, that they said, Save thine own life by all means; look not round to that which is behind, nor stay in all the country round about, escape to the mountain, lest perhaps thou be overtaken together with them.

Behold this city is near for me to escape thither, which is a small one, and there shall I be preserved, is it not little? and my soul shall live because of thee.

Hasten therefore to escape thither, for I shall not be able to do anything until thou art come thither; therefore he called the name of that city, Zoar.

And Jacob said, If Esau should come to one camp, and smite it, the other camp shall be in safety.

And David said in his heart, Now shall I be one day delivered for death into the hands of Saul; and there is no good thing for me unless I should escape into the land of the Philistines, and Saul should cease from seeking me through every coast of Israel: so I shall escape out of his hand.

So the Lord delivered Hezekiah and the dwellers in Jerusalem out of the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria, and out of the hand of all his enemies, and gave them rest round about.

Deliver my soul, that it may not go to destruction, And my life shall see the light.

He beholds them that perform lawless deeds, and he will save me: And do thou plead before him, if thou canst praise him, as it is possible even now.

Then will I confess that thy right hand can save thee.

Arise, Lord; deliver me, my God: For thou hast smitten all who were without cause mine enemies; Thou hast broken the teeth of sinners.

Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: Save me for thy mercy’s sake.

O Lord my God, in thee have I trusted: Save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.

Lest at any time the enemy seize my soul as a lion, While there is none to ransom, nor to save.

My help is righteous, coming from God Who saves the upright in heart.

Save me, O Lord; for the godly man has failed; For truth is diminished from among the children of men.

Show the marvels of thy mercies, Thou that savest them that hope in thee.

I will call upon the Lord with praises, And I shall be saved from mine enemies.

For thou wilt save the lowly people, And wilt humble the eyes of the proud.

They cried, but there was no deliverer: Even to the Lord, but he hearkened not to them.

Now I know that the Lord has saved his Christ: He shall hear him from his holy heaven: The salvation of his right hand is mighty.

O Lord, save the king: And hear us in whatever day we call upon thee.

They cried to thee, and were saved: They hoped in thee, and were not ashamed.

He hoped in the Lord: let him deliver him, Let him save him, because he takes pleasure in him.

Save me from the lion’s mouth; And regard my lowliness from the horns of the unicorns.

Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: And take care of them, and lift them up forever.
