About Luke 2

Caesar's census brings Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem, where Jesus is born and laid in a manger because there was no room in the inn. Angels announce good tidings of great joy to night-shift shepherds, Simeon and Anna recognize the infant Messiah in the temple, and the chapter closes with the only canonical glimpse of Jesus' boyhood — twelve years old, in His Father's house, growing in wisdom and stature.
