1 “তোমরা অপরকে বিচার কোরো না, নইলে তোমাদেরও বিচার করা হবে।
2 কারণ যেভাবে তোমরা অপরের বিচার করবে, সেভাবেই তোমাদের বিচার করা হবে এবং যে মানদণ্ডে তোমরা পরিমাপ করবে, সেই একই মানদণ্ডে তোমাদের পরিমাপ করা হবে।
3 “তোমার ভাইয়ের চোখে যে কাঠের গুঁড়ো রয়েছে, কেবলমাত্র সেটিই দেখছ, অথচ তোমার নিজের চোখে যে কড়িকাঠ রয়েছে, তার প্রতি মনোযোগ দিচ্ছ না কেন?
4 তুমি কী করে তোমার ভাইকে বলতে পারো, ‘এসো, তোমার চোখ থেকে কাঠের গুঁড়োটি বের করে দিই,’ যখন তোমার নিজের চোখেই সবসময় কড়িকাঠ রয়েছে?
5 ওহে ভণ্ড, প্রথমে নিজের চোখ থেকে কড়িকাঠটি বের করো, তাহলেই তোমার ভাইয়ের চোখ থেকে কাঠের গুঁড়োটি বের করার জন্য স্পষ্ট দেখতে পাবে।
6 “পবিত্র বস্তু কুকুরদের দিয়ো না; তোমাদের মুক্তো শূকরদের সামনে ছড়িয়ো না, যদি তা করো, তারা হয়তো সেগুলি পদদলিত করবে ও ফিরে তোমাদের ছিঁড়ে টুকরো টুকরো করবে।
7 “চাও, তোমাদের দেওয়া হবে; খোঁজ করো, তোমরা পাবে; কড়া নাড়ো, তোমাদের জন্য দ্বার খুলে দেওয়া হবে।
8 কারণ যে চায়, সে গ্রহণ করে; যে খোঁজ করে, সে সন্ধান পায়; আর যে কড়া নাড়ে, তার জন্য দ্বার খুলে দেওয়া হয়।
9 “তোমাদের মধ্যে এমন কে আছে যে তার ছেলে রুটি চাইলে, তাকে পাথর দেবে?
10 অথবা, মাছ চাইলে তাকে সাপ দেবে?
11 তোমরা মন্দ প্রকৃতির হয়েও যদি নিজেদের সন্তানদের ভালো ভালো উপহার দিতে জানো, তাহলে যারা তোমাদের স্বর্গস্থ পিতার কাছে চায়, তাদের তিনি আরও কত না উৎকৃষ্ট সব উপহার নিশ্চিতরূপে দান করবেন?
12 তাই সব বিষয়ে, তোমরা অপরের কাছ থেকে যেরূপ ব্যবহার পেতে চাও, তাদের প্রতি তোমরাও সেরূপ ব্যবহার কোরো। কারণ এই হল বিধান ও ভাববাদীদের শিক্ষার মূল বিষয়।
13 “সংকীর্ণ দ্বার দিয়ে প্রবেশ করো, কারণ প্রশস্ত দ্বার ও সুবিস্তৃত পথ ধ্বংসের দিকে নিয়ে যায় এবং বহু মানুষ তা দিয়ে প্রবেশ করে।
14 কিন্তু জীবনে প্রবেশ করার দ্বার সংকীর্ণ ও পথ দুর্গম, আর খুব কম লোকই তার সন্ধান পায়।
15 “ভণ্ড ভাববাদীদের থেকে সাবধান। তারা মেষের ছদ্মবেশে তোমাদের কাছে আসে, কিন্তু অন্তরে তারা হিংস্র নেকড়ের মতো।
16 তাদের ফল দ্বারাই তোমরা তাদের চিনতে পারবে। লোকে কি কাঁটাঝোপ থেকে আঙুর, বা শিয়ালকাঁটা থেকে ডুমুরফল পায়?
17 একইভাবে, প্রত্যেক ভালো গাছে ভালো ফল ধরে, কিন্তু মন্দ গাছে মন্দ ফল ধরে।
18 কোনো ভালো গাছে মন্দ ফল ধরতে পারে না এবং কোনো মন্দ গাছে ভালো ফল ধরতে পারে না।
19 যে গাছে ভালো ফল ধরে না, সেই গাছ কেটে আগুনে ফেলে দেওয়া হয়।
20 এভাবে, তাদের ফল দ্বারাই তোমরা তাদের চিনতে পারবে।
21 “যারা আমাকে ‘প্রভু, প্রভু’ বলে, তারা সবাই স্বর্গরাজ্যে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না; কিন্তু যে আমার স্বর্গস্থ পিতার ইচ্ছা পালন করবে, সেই প্রবেশ করতে পারবে।
22 সেদিন, অনেকে আমাকে বলবে, ‘প্রভু, প্রভু; আমরা কি আপনার নামে ভবিষ্যদ্‌বাণী করিনি? আপনার নামে কি ভূত তাড়াইনি ও বহু অলৌকিক কাজ করিনি?’
23 তখন আমি তাদের স্পষ্ট বলব, ‘আমি তোমাদের কোনোকালেও জানতাম না। দুষ্টের দল, আমার সামনে থেকে দূর হও!’
24 “অতএব, যে আমার এসব বাক্য শুনে পালন করে, সে এমন এক বুদ্ধিমান লোকের মতো, যে পাথরের উপরে তার বাড়ি নির্মাণ করল।
25 পরে বৃষ্টি নামল, বন্যা এল, ঝড় বইল ও সেই বাড়িতে আঘাত করল; তবুও তার পতন হল না, কারণ পাথরের উপরে তার ভিত্তিমূল প্রতিষ্ঠিত ছিল।
26 কিন্তু যে কেউ আমার এসব বাক্য শুনেও পালন করে না, সে এমন এক মূর্খ মানুষের মতো, যে বালির উপরে তার বাড়ি নির্মাণ করল।
27 পরে বৃষ্টি নামল, বন্যা এল, ঝড় বইল ও সেই বাড়িতে আঘাত করল, আর তার ভয়ংকর পতন হল।”
28 যীশু যখন এসব বিষয় বলা শেষ করলেন তখন লোকেরা তাঁর শিক্ষায় আশ্চর্য হয়ে গেল।
29 কারণ তিনি শাস্ত্রবিদদের মতো নয়, কিন্তু একজন ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন ব্যক্তির মতোই শিক্ষা দিলেন।
