亲爱的，我给你们这些指示，相信你们也和我持同样的观点。但我要提前警告你们，对于那些人面兽心的人，你们不仅要避免欢迎他们，如果可能的话，甚至不要与他们相遇；只是，你们必须为他们向上帝祈祷，希望他们能够悔改，这将是非常困难的。然而，耶稣基督是我们真正的生命，他有能力做到这一点。但是，如果我们的主只是在表面上做了这些事，那么我也只是在表面上受到约束。我为什么要向死亡、烈火、刀剑和野兽投降呢？事实上，靠近刀剑的人就是靠近上帝；在野兽中的人就是与上帝为伴，只要他奉耶稣基督的名在那里。我承受这一切，是为了与他一同受苦，他成了完人，在里面坚固了我。
