第 12 章：知识对真正属灵生活的重要性。
当你读完并仔细聆听了这些话，你就会知道上帝赐给那些正确爱祂的人的是什么。你们被造作快乐的乐园，在你们里面有一棵树，结出各种果实，枝繁叶茂。因为在这里，知识之树和生命之树已经栽种；但毁灭的不是知识之树，而是悖逆。此外，关于上帝如何从起初就在乐园中种下生命树的文字并非毫无意义，它通过知识揭示了生命之路。当最初形成的人没有正确使用这些知识时，他们就被蛇的欺骗剥光了衣服。因为没有知识就没有生命，没有生命就没有知识。因此，两者被紧密地种植在一起。使徒理解这种联系的意义，并批评了那些没有真正教义却被允许影响生命的知识，他宣称："知识使人膨胀，而爱却使人坚固"。"因为任何人，如果没有真正的知识，没有以生命为支撑的知识，就以为自己什么都知道，那就什么都不知道，而是被蛇欺骗了，因为他们不热爱生命。但凡是把知识和敬畏结合起来，追求生命的人，就会在希望中种植，寻找果实。让你的心成为你的智慧，让你的生命成为内心接受的真知。结出这棵树，结出这棵树的果实，你就能永远收获上帝所渴求的、蛇所不能企及的、欺骗所不能接近的东西。这样，夏娃就不会堕落，而会像童贞女一样被信任；救赎就会显明，使徒们就会被理解所充满，主的逾越节就会提前，唱诗班就会聚集在一起，并按适当的顺序排列，圣言就会在教导圣徒的过程中喜乐，天父就会因他们而得荣耀：荣耀归于天父，直到永远。阿门。
