About Psalms 1

The Psalter opens with two ways set side by side: the blessed man who delights in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night like a tree planted by streams of water, and the wicked, who are like chaff the wind drives away. The psalm distills the whole book's promise โ€” the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked perishes.
