1 ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਅਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ।
2 ਤਦ ਤੀਜੇ ਸਾਲ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਹਠਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ।
3 ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੈ। ਭਲਾ, ਅਸੀਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਰਹੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੋੜ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਲਈਏ?
4 ਉਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਲੜਾਈ ਲਈ ਚੱਲੇਂਗਾ? ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜੇਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਤੇਹਾ ਮੈਂ, ਜਿਹੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਿਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ, ਜਿਹੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਤਿਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਘੋੜੇ।
5 ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਪੁੱਛ ਕਰੀਂ।
6 ਤਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਲੱਗਭੱਗ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਸਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਾਈ ਲਈ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਦਿਆਂ? ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
7 ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਬੀ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਪੁੱਛੀਏ?
8 ਤਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅਜੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛੀਏ ਉਹ ਯਿਮਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕਿੜ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਦਾ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਚਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਆਖੇ।
9 ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਖੁਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਿਮਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਲੈ ਆ।
10 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਬਸਤਰ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਇੱਕ ਪਿੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
11 ਕਨਾਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਗ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਮੁੱਕ ਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਧੱਸੀ ਜਾਓਗੇ
12 ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਫਤਹ ਪਾਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
13 ਉਹ ਹਲਕਾਰਾ ਜੋ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਣ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਜ਼ਰਾ ਵੇਖੀਂ ਕਿ ਨਬੀ ਇੱਕ ਮੂੰਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਲਈ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਬੋਲੀਂ।
14 ਅੱਗੋਂ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਏਗਾ ਉਹੋ ਹੀ ਬੋਲਾਂਗਾ।
15 ਸੋ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ, ਭਲਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਈਏ ਜਾਂ ਰੁਕੇ ਰਹੀਏ? ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਤਹ ਪਾਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
16 ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਕੁ ਵਾਰ ਸਹੁੰ ਚੁਕਾਵਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸੇਂ?
17 ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਯਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਖਿੰਡ ਜਾਣਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਵੇ।
18 ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਭਲਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਵਾਚੇਗਾ?
19 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫੇਰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣੋ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੀ।
20 ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੌਣ ਅਹਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਕੋਲ ਡਿੱਗ ਮਰੇ? ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਉਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਿਆ।
21 ਤਦ ਇੱਕ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਾ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ?
22 ਉਸ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਝੂਠਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਂਗਾ। ਤਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾ ਲਏਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਤੇਂਗਾ। ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ।
23 ਹੁਣ ਵੇਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਝੂਠਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
24 ਤਾਂ ਕਨਾਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ੍ਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਕਿਸ ਰਾਹ ਥਾਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੋਲੇ?
25 ਪਰ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵੇਖ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਅੰਦਰਲੀ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁੱਕਣ ਨੂੰ ਵੜੇਂਗਾ ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖੇਂਗਾ।
26 ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਆਮੋਨ ਕੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਕੋਲ ਮੋੜ ਲੈ ਜਾ।
27 ਅਤੇ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਇਹ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਨਾਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੋੜੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਗੀ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੰਗੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਿਓ।
28 ਪਰ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੀ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੜ ਆਓ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਨਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਸੁਣ ਲਓ।
29 ਤਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ, ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹੇ।
30 ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਭੇਸ ਵਟਾਕੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖ। ਸੋ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਭੇਸ ਵਟਾਕੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ।
31 ਪਰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਲੜਿਓ।
32 ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਇਹੋ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਚਿੱਲਾਇਆ।
33 ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਹਟ ਗਏ।
34 ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਅਟਕਲ ਪੱਚੂ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਣੁੱਖ ਖਿੱਚ ਕੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਜੋ ਦੇ ਜੋੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੀਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੋੜ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ ਚੱਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਫੱਟੜ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
35 ਅਤੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਵੱਧ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਥੰਮਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਝ ਨੂੰ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲਹੂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖਮ ਤੋਂ ਰਥ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਗਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
36 ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਆਥਣ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਹੋਕਾ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰ ਜਾਵੇ।
37 ਸੋ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
38 ਅਤੇ ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਤਲਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੋਤਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਨਹਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਚੱਟਿਆ।
39 ਅਹਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਾਥੀ ਦੰਦ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਿਆਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ?
40 ਸੋ ਅਹਾਬ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।
41 ਆਸਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।
42 ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਪੈਂਤੀਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਚੀ ਸਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸ਼ਿਲਹੀ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਅਜ਼ੂਬਾਹ ਸੀ।
43 ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਆਸਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਠੀਕ ਸੀ ਉਹੋ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉੱਚੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਢਾਹੇ ਨਾ ਗਏ ਸਗੋਂ ਅਜੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
44 ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਕੀਤਾ।
45 ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਕੰਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਲੜਿਆ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ?
46 ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਾਂਡੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਆਸਾ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਦੇਸੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
47 ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਗੁਮਾਸ਼ਤਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
48 ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੇ ਤਰਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੀ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸੋਨੇ ਲਈ ਓਫੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਗਏ ਨਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਅਸਯੋਨ-ਗਬਰ ਕੋਲ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਏ।
49 ਤਦ ਅਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਹਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਹ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਨੇ ਨਾਂਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
50 ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਬਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਰਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ।
51 ਅਹਾਬ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਸਤਾਰਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ।
