Has there been a teaching or interpretation of the gospel of Matthew that has surprised you since reading through the Ante-Nicene Fathers set again? There have been a lot of things. In fact, it's ironic that I you know had originally said, yeah, we don't need commentaries. Well, just the questions people submitted, I would say at least 80% of those, I would have given the wrong answer five years ago. So learning enormous things as I'm going through.
I never understood, for example, on fulfilling the law, what he meant by that. You know, I didn't come to destroy it. I came to fulfill it. I mean, I had an explanation, but it was not the correct one. And so, yes, I am learning probably more than any of my readers will as I go through.
