You've been around a little bit, and you've been dedicated as a Christian in your mind this whole time. And then you find some random small group of people who are dressed like they just came off of an episode of Little House on the Prairie, and they come around telling you that your women need to be covering their heads as a sign of submission and subordination. That makes no sense. How have you never encountered this teaching?
When I moved to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, I didn't really care about this a whole lot. I didn't understand it, but I didn't have a horse in the race either. I had no kids, I had no wife. And if I'm honest, for the longest time when I would read the head-covering passages, it did not translate into my brain.
