Since most of this is going to be stepping on the toes of the Jews, he starts off by criticizing the Gentiles, the unbelieving Gentiles, uh, to show, look, I am not picking on you. I mean, I'm a fellow Jew. I'm not, you know, picking on on we Jews, us Jews. Um, um, yeah, we're just talking about God's truth. So he begins by talking about the failings and sins of the Gentiles. Now, this would not have offended the Christian Gentiles because they would have said, "Amen." They came out of this.
I mean, they know what what it was like there when they were in the pagan world. So he wouldn't have stepped on their toes, but he would have been showing the Jewish Christians, look, I'm not picking on you. This letter is about Jews and Gentiles, and I'm being fair to both sides because we're all brothers and sisters in Christ.
