Hear, O son, of Father's instruction, and be attentive that you may gain insight. I was looking on the website of the U.S. Department of Justice. It had several things to say about what happens when, and this is normally through divorce, that you have just a mother raising the children. The strongest predictor of whether a person will end up in prison is if they were raised by both a father and a mother or by just a mother. So even more than poverty, it's whether you have two parents, which is what God's design is.

It went on to say, "A study done in 1996 found that 70% of inmates in state juvenile detention centers serving long sentences were raised by single mothers."
