Salvation Truths: Ante-Nicene Fathers' Surprising Insights

It's so interesting because one of the things motivating me to have read the Antianizing Fathers in the first place were the questions on salvation. Is it true that works or obedience play no role in our salvation? It seemed to me from Scripture it does. And then, is it once saved, always saved? And so here I open up the Antianizing Fathers, the very first work, Clement of Rome, and I read it and it answered it right there. Now, I'm glad I kept reading because, yeah, there were so many discoveries waiting for me.

But yeah, right off the bat, I saw, okay, they were reading Scripture the same way I read it. It seems pretty clear in Scripture that we're saved by faith and God's grace. He does require obedience. It's a gift he gives us, but there are some conditions attached to it. And then, yeah, we still have to fear the judgment. It's not all over. Join us in earnestly contending for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
