Lesson Transcript

He was very upset that there were Christians there in the army because he didn't want them there. Then the battle was about to take place. The Christians knelt and prayed. The letter is supposed to be from Marcus Aurelius. Okay, wow. Scholars question the genuineness, but I don't know that they have a reason to. It's just they don't like miracles, so, you know, they question it, you know. But he says it's loathsome to them to use weapons, you know. Their weapon is to pray.

I mean, yeah, he himself knows that Christians, it's against their religion to use weapons of war. Instead, they prayed, and then this hailstorm came on the enemy, saved—I mean, they were about to die of thirst. They were surrounded by the enemy. And so it drove the enemy away. It brought rain on them. It saved their lives. Instead of showing that Christians went to war, yeah, you're seeing people who were already in the army, just what we see in Apollotus. They did not use the sword.

God preserved them, you know, through a miracle.
