Lesson Transcript

And Jesus says this, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel." So Jesus is the one who called him, who made the decision he was going to be an apostle to the Gentiles. Now, you know, most of my life, I guess almost all of my life, I've read that in Acts 9. I never caught the last part of that, actually, until last night. I probably had read it and seen it before, and then it slipped my mind.

He says, you know, to carry my name before the Gentiles. I've always remembered that. And the kings, yep, we know he appeared before kings. But he says, "And the children of Israel." I had forgotten. Oh, that was part of his commission. And of course, his letters are always to congregations that are made up of Jews and Gentiles. Some of them were mainly Gentiles. Some of them may have been mainly Jews. But yeah, he was called to both, even though specifically he was the apostle to the Gentiles.
