Many Anabaptist churches, they won't greet somebody who is outside of their own church or outside of their own conference, their church conference. And I would strongly disagree with that practice. This is supposed to be a holy kiss, a way of showing—Peter calls it a kiss of love.
And when we start having such a sectarian spirit that I can't just greet you as a brother because you don't belong to the same conference I do, or you don't attend the same church that I do, that now I can't even offer you a greeting as a brother in Christ or as a sister in Christ, I would deplore that practice. We have enough division among Christians without adding new things, new ways of dividing. Join us in earnestly contending for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
