Her dad was very firm, and her mom too. I mean, like I say, they shared the discipline responsibilities, and she said they just worked as a total team. You could not play one of them against the other. You never got away with that in her home. The thing that was interesting to me was that her dad never got angry, never raised his voice. I had good parents, and I praise and honor them.
But in my home, when we children got out of line, then it was yelling and screaming, and then you're going to get a spanking after that. I just thought that was normal.
