Remember Lot's Wife!

Well, good morning, everyone. I also want to extend greetings in the name of Jesus. Glad to be here this morning and trust that our time together here this morning could be worthwhile. I know I've been already challenged this morning.

Going to take a little diversion from First Peter. The title of the message this morning is Remember Lot's Wife. And to get our thinking stirred here, I invite you to Genesis 19, verses 12 to 26. And this will not be the main text this morning, but I want to give a little background and just refresh ourselves with this story.

Genesis 19, beginning to read at verse 12. And now before this, Abraham had had had had his conversation with God, and he had pled with God that if, you know, if there's righteousness in this city, would you please, please spare it. And we know the story of the sort of the back and forth that went on there. And finally, God promised that if there were ten righteous people in the city of Sodom, that he would not destroy it.

And so in we bef right before we read this, the situation is that there's evil men trying to find a door to Lot's home, even in despite in spite of the fact that God had struck him with blindness and says they they were groping at the door so much that they were making themselves weary. They were becoming tired. And it just it's kind of an awful picture of depravity that we see there. It says this, "Then the men said to Lot, Have you anyone else here, son-in-laws, your and the men are the are the angels?

Have you anyone else here, son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in this city? Take them out of this place, for we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it." So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law who had married his daughters and said, "Get up, get out of this place, for the Lord will destroy the city." But to his son-in-law, he seemed to be joking. When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, "Arise, take your wife and your daughters and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city."

And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife's hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him. And they brought him out and set him outside the city. So it came to pass when they had brought them outside that he said, "Escape for your life. Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed." Then Lot said to them, "Please know, my lords, indeed now your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have increased your mercy, which you have shown me by saving my life. But I cannot escape to the mountains, lest some evil overtake me and I die.

See now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little place, little one. Please let me escape there. Is it not a little one? And my soul shall live." And he said to him, "See, I have favored you concerning this thing also, in that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken. Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there."

Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar, and the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of the heavens. So he overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

So I just want to want you to hold that picture in your mind. Now turn to to Luke chapter 17.

And we're going to read verses 18. I'm sorry, verses 20 to 18, verse 8.

Now, when he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will they say, 'See here' or 'See there'; for indeed the kingdom of God is within you." Then he said to the disciples, "The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, 'Look here' or 'Look there'; do not go after them or follow them. For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in his day.

But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man. They ate, they drank, they married wives. They were given in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise, as it was also in the days of Lot, they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built. But on the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

In that day, he who was on the housetop and his goods are in the house, let him not come down and take them away. And likewise, the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed. The one will be taken, and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together. The one will be taken, and the other left. Two men will be in the field. The one will be taken, and the other left." And they answered and said to him, "Where, Lord?"

So he said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together." Then he spoke a parable to them that men ought always to pray and not lose heart, saying, "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, saying, 'Get justice for me from my adversary.' And he would not for a while. But afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because of this widow troubles me, I will avenge her. Lest by her continual coming she weary me.'

Then the Lord said, 'Hear what the unjust judge said: And God and shall God not avenge his own elect who cry out day and night to him, though he bears with them long long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he really find faith on the earth.'" So I actually heard a message this past week that had some of these themes in it, and I guess it was really convicting to me and a challenge to me. And so I thought I would share some of those thoughts with you this morning.

You know, the Bible is we have the word history, and I think Brother John at one point in a wrote a history book, it's God's word, his story.

And you know, the Bible begins, there's a beginning and there's a conclusion. We have the creation, we have time beginning, and then at the end of the end of the scriptures, we have we see this earth being destroyed, history as we know it coming to an end, and then a new heaven and a new earth. And this climax or this conclusion will take place whenever God's purpose has been fulfilled. He created this world for a purpose.

You know, it's not a forever history. And you know, I think mankind, many of mankind who who don't have a sense of of God's plan and his purpose, they look on and it's there's sort of a weariness because time, you know, millions of years, millions of years, and time just keeps moving on. And they look on and they see how things are sort of deteriorating, and they worry about climate change and and all the things they worry about, and it brings about a weariness. Nor is history just going to fade away into nothingness. And I think there's a lot of people out there that sort of have the idea that this thing was sort of set in motion somehow.

They're not quite sure how that was. And sooner or later, it's just going to kind of fade out into nothingness. And it's also not going in circles. The Eastern religions, Eastern philosophy has this idea that things are come in cycles. So when you when you die, you know, depending on how you live, you may come back in another life as a as a rat. Or if you were really good, you may come up out in something more desirable than that.

But you know, I think deep down within everyone's heart is is the knowledge that there's more to it than that. Somehow, Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He has made everything beautiful in his time. Also, he has put eternity in their hearts."

So there's a sort of instinctively we know that things aren't going to continue on. I think people have a sort of a sense of their own own mortality. I remember as a child when this sort of hit me and kind of struggling with this, you know, life is not always going to continue the way it is. I'm going to get old. You know, this generation is going to pass off the scene.

And it brings up a bunch of basic questions that I think a lot of people, if we're honest, we grasp we grapple with. And that is, who am I? What is my purpose? And where do I find meaning in this history?

And we're here at Halloween season, and I think more than ever, I just I just see people's preoccupation with death. I can't tell you how many how many homes I've been in where there's you open the door and you walk in and there's a skeleton sitting on a chair in the in the hallway. There's just this preoccupation of death. And it's sort of like, what drives that? What is it that makes people think and and and sort of try to make light of it? I think it's because deep down in they realize, you know, we're all facing this. And and and what does it all mean?

And of course, many people try to find meaning by indulging, just simply indulging in their fleshly appetites, building an economic empire, trying to somehow become economically secure. Ernest Hemingway was an author, a famous author here in American literature.

He wrote seven novels, six short story collections, and two nonfiction works. And he's known in academic circles as one of the classics of American literature. Ernest Hemingway actually had his grandparents who were devout Christians.

Somewhere along the line, he became bitter towards that. He lived it up. If you ever visit Key West, he he was a big person there. Key West was known for its decadent lifestyle. He was married four times. He was an alcoholic. And yet when he died, he was worth about in 1961, he was worth about $1.4 million as a result of his as a result of his work, which today's terms would be about nine and nine and a half million dollars.

But he this is one of the things that he said. He said, "Fear of death increases in the exact proportion to the increase in wealth." That's interesting coming from from his perspective. He also said this, "I live in a vacuum that is as lonely as a radio tube when the batteries are dead and there's no current to plug into." And so one morning in Idaho, he put a shotgun to his head and and ended his life.

C.S. Lewis said in Mere Christianity, "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not prove that the universe is a fraud. Probably earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing."

And I guess what I would like to suggest this morning that the real thing is is the kingdom of God, which is what Jesus talked about. And it's what the it's what the Pharisees came asking him about. Jesus said in Matthew 6:31 to 33, "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek."

That Ernest Ernest Hemingways of the world are concerned about that. "For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things, but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all all these things shall be added to you."

So within the kingdom of God, under the direction of the King is where we find our meaning, purpose, and direction for our lives.

So these decide the Pharisees came to him and said, "When is this kingdom going to come?"

They had in mind an earthly kingdom. They had in mind something totally different than what Jesus was here to bring.

You know, this promise of the kingdom brings us hope, but it comes with a warning also: failure to join or to enter the kingdom of God. And we face the dreaded consequences of sin without a remedy.

Jesus had already talked to them about the kingdom. And if we back up into Luke 11, verses 16 to 23, just read that. This is in the case where they accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of demons.

And Jesus said this: "Others testing him sought from him a sign from heaven, but he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say, 'I cast out demons by Beelzebub.' And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do you your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you." So Jesus had already told the Pharisees that that the kingdom of God is is here, is it's at hand, it's among you, it's come upon you.

So these Pharisees came with this question: "Well, when when will the kingdom of God come?" Well, Jesus said, "It won't come with observation. It's it's all it's here with you. It's it's beside you. It's among you."

He also said that in its final coming, it's going to be so sudden that you won't have time to get out your charts and your and your tables and figure out all this all this stuff. So the Pharisees didn't didn't seem to be really interested or didn't understand what Jesus was talking about. So Jesus came. He instituted the kingdom. And then it seems like Jesus sort of answered maybe an unanswered question that the disciples had. Because he turns from the Pharisees and he turns to his disciples.

And he starts to talking about the coming of the Son of Man. This this time when Jesus is going to come and and and finish the kingdom and bring it bring it to an end, it has within it the idea of judgment. The day the day of the Son of Man will be revealed.

And Jesus tells his disciples that it's going to be unmistakable. It's going to be worldwide. It's going to be sudden. And it's going to be inescapable. And for those who are not ready for this day of the Son of Man, it's going to be calamitous because we find ourselves separated from God. It's unmistakable. Will not be we're not going to be going around when that day comes saying, "Is this I wonder if this is when Jesus is coming back. I wonder if this is the day of the Lord."

We're going to. It's going to be unmistakable. It's going to be worldwide. There's no place on earth that you are going to be able to escape this. You hear about something happening in some other country. Well, wonder if no, it's going to be worldwide. He says it's going to be as in the days of Noah. And we know how that was. Only those who were in the Ark were able to escape the judgment. He says it's going to be sudden.

Like the lightning. We won't need charts or graphs. The kingdom of God doesn't come with observation.

It's going to be inescapable. Every knee is going to bow. Every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

And it's going to be a dreadful day for those who are not ready for that day.

What's it mean to be ready? How can we how can we be sure we're ready? Well, we need to be part of this kingdom. We need to be members. Jesus has to be our Lord and King. We have to confess that he is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And we talked about that this morning in our Sunday school.

Have we made that preparation in our own hearts? You know, that means doing what he commands. That means that we have an obedient, love, faith relationship with him. And Jesus warns us that we need to be prepared.

This week I was working at a man's house and he was on his he got on his phone while I was there and he was checking the stock market. Friday there was a little bit of a downside for people that watch it and the stock market took a dip and he was concerned because his 401(k) is is directly tied to the stock market. You know, why are people concerned about retirement? The sort of the formula is we look to the future.

Being wise equals being prepared.

Why do we people take out a life insurance policy? Well, it's because they know sooner or later their life is going to end. Someone else is going to have to pick up the pieces that remain. And so they the knowledge that we're going to die is behind that. So we're going to take out a policy to make sure that those are left behind or taken care of.

You know, financial advisors say that for a comfortable retirement in our day and age, you need to have about 100 $1.5 million stored up. And they're saying that's not even that's not even enough really for all the things that could happen when you talk about medical and and so on that could happen.

People prepare for time. Alistair Begin, one of his messages, said it this way: "What is it that possesses you to prepare for time and not prepare for eternity?" And I guess that that's the part that really that really hit me. Pretty hard. And as an example in my life, how much am I occupied with the here and now? Or am I preparing for that day of the Lord? Jesus said we're supposed to lay up treasures in heaven.

And there's an urgency. There's an urgency to this.

And so Jesus told the disciples here when he says the days are going to come when you're going to long for for me to be here, you're going to long for me to to come back. He knew that they were facing persecution. He knew they were facing martyrdom. Many of them would die for his for his sake.

And under persecution and trial and tribulation, we become vulnerable to the false. And so he says that when people say, "Look here and look there." Don't don't follow after them. The kingdom of God doesn't come by observation. But he said it's going to be like the lightning that lights up the sky.

And you know when we're in a in the middle of a thunderstorm. We know we do not know when that lightning is going to strike. But when it does, we know it. It's from sky to sky. There's there's no there's no end to it. And he says that's how how sudden this day of the Lord is.

Jesus also told him that he he had to go to the cross. He had to go face the cross. He had to suffer and be despised and rejected of men. And so there's the sense where there's a delay.

And here we are. Two thousand years later. And we're still waiting for that. The day of the Son of Man.

I believe it's because God's love and mercy. He's not willing that any should perish.

He's delayed his coming to give one more opportunity to be a part of that invitation to be a part of his kingdom to to be a part of that.

We mentioned this we read there about Sodom and we know that God promised that if if there were even 10 people there, he would save he would save the city. That's an example of God's mercy. And so the disciples were were they had the question in their mind and maybe a question in our mind: What's it going to be like? What's it going to be like?

In the day of when the Son of Man returns. Well, Jesus said it's going to be like it was in the day of Noah. Evil was rampant. But life was going along just as normal. He says they were married marriage and get people given in marriage. There were funerals. People were getting up in the morning going to work. Maybe they were making hay.

Maybe they were homeschooling.

But you know when Noah went into that Ark.

Everything everything was destroyed.

He says it's going to be like in the days of Lot. He says they ate they drank they bought they sold they planted they built.

Just living normal life. Getting up going to work. Repairing another refrigerator. Fixing another tire. But. When God took Lot out of that city, the fire in Brimstone fell and there was there was no it destroyed everyone. There. There was a remnant each time who escaped that destruction. And I guess the question that I want to ask myself is am I ready for that day?

You know we live in an age of preppers. There's people out there that preparing for for Doomsday in some ways. You know they have food stacked in five gallon buckets in their in their basement. Some people even put a bunker in the backyard.

Is that is that what we do to prepare for this day?

You know over in Iran they had those bunkers that were down and the United States tried to destroy them with the bunker busters. There's no bunker that will prepare us for that day of the Lord. If if we're not prepared.

We will not escape. Preparation is a matter of the heart. Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Lot's soul was vexed by the wickedness of Sodom.

And so how's our heart this morning? I guess that's that's the question we need to ask ourselves. Am I am I ready? Jesus says a really interesting thing then he says if you're on the house top when that day comes.

Don't go down the house don't go downstairs and get your stuff. Or he said if you're out in the field. Don't go back. And and and for your stuff. There's an interesting article recently about. Recently there have been some airplanes that have had to been had to be.

Evacuated in a case of emergency on a runway. And so they put those slides down and people were supposed to get out get out get out time to get out. But the FAA is calling on airlines to reevaluate their emergency evacuation procedures. Why? Because people are taken out there they won't get off until they grab their their their bags.

And they say it's dangerous. It's dangerous because there's a delay if this thing's about to blow and you're you're you're concerned about your carry on that's up in the up in the luggage rack. It's also it damages the slides people slide out and then things get hooked and people are getting hurt. Because not only were people sliding down the slides but here comes somebody's stuff.

And it seems like.

Jesus is saying that if we want to evaluate whether we're prepared or not. Look at the connection that we have with our stuff.

I like John's illustration here this morning with that magnet. You know. We can be connected to our stuff and we saw how hard he had to work to pull that apart. Or are we free from that so that at any point we're ready. And that's when Jesus said.

Remember Lot's wife. And I think that's that I think that's interesting that he says that remember Lot's wife. What what was Lot's wife what was the what was the thing there. Well she was leaving Sodom but her heart was still there.

She was still connected to the stuff that was back there.

You know those angels had to practically pull them away. So are we ready for the day of the Son of Man how are we doing with our with our stuff.

I'd like to read another account that story that Jesus told in Luke 14 verses 16 to 24.

Luke 14 verse 16 then he said to the hymn a certain man gave a great supper and invited many and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited come for all things are now made ready but they all with one accord began to make excuse the first said to him I have bought a piece of ground and I must go and see it I ask you to be I ask you to have me excused and another said I have bought five yoke of oxen and I'm going to test them I ask you to have me excused still another said I have married a wife and therefore I cannot come so that servant came and reported these things to his master then the master of the house being angry said to his servant go out quickly in the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor the maimed and the lame and the blind.

And the servant said Master it is done as you commanded and still there is no room. Then the master said to the servants go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to command that my house may be filled for I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.

Here was a group of people got it got it they were invited to a supper invited to participate in the kingdom of God. And the things in their life actually prevented them from being part of that and Jesus said you're not going to have part.

In my in my kingdom. And then Jesus says in back in our verses in chapter 17 Jesus said that something that he said many times and that is.

Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it and whoever loses his life shall preserve it. In the context here I think it's very plain.

Are we prepping in the right way I guess that's the question I have this morning.

And then verses 34 and 35 he says your associates are not going to be able to. To save you it's it's it comes down to each of our personal the state you know and we hear people all the time say well you know my grandmother was a was a really godly person she she went to church and she did all this and and you think well what's the purpose of them saying that and I think sometimes we feel like by association if I'm really really close I go to church with a group a good group of people. But if we don't have that personal relationship if we're not a member of the kingdom of God he said two people can be in the exact in the same bed and one person is destined for judgment and the other person for glory.

Two women can be grinding one can be taken and the other left.

There's no coattails when it comes to that day when that day comes. We're not going to go by on the on the merits of someone someone else someone else's goodness.

I guess the bottom line is am I preparing for time or am I preparing for eternity you know the world out there. I didn't read the statistics.

There it's estimated that in the United States alone there's 43.4 trillion dollars. In retirement benefits that are that are tied up in retirement and savings and so on. That's preparing for time this world's going to end it's all going to be burned up are we prepared are we preparing for eternity that's the question.

Remember Lot's wife. And then he ends this passage with a little bit of a.

A puzzling illustration and I don't know that I. 100 percent understand what it says but the disciples said where where Lord.

And Jesus said where the vultures circle and gather that's where you're going to find something dead and I simply take from that that. When this happens it's going to be an understandable unmistakable way and we won't have to ask well where's it taking taking place at.

I'd like to end this morning that maybe feels a little negative. A little heavy. But like to end with some encouragement. When we look at the state of the world around us the situation of of our society all the violence it just seems like it just it's almost on a.

It's just speeding up it almost makes you lose heart Jesus still has not returned. And I don't think his disciples could have fathomed that it's 2000 years later and that we'd still be waiting for that.

And so Jesus says in. In this parable that he tells them in chapter 18. That men ought always to pray and not lose heart and that's what would be my encouragement this morning I don't want us to lose heart.

And he says that the antidote to that is to to pray and I guess I've been I guess more and more. Realizing that. Prayer is all about the relationship that we have with God it's about relationship. I think sometimes we make it into a kind of a mechanical mechanical thing you know we have certain amount of time we we pray and that's that's OK.

But to have a relationship we need communication. And how else can we have a relationship with God except that we we spend time in communication in prayer prayer involves pouring out our heart. Desires to God.

Psalm 62 8 says trust in him at all times you people pour out your heart before him God is a refuge for us so in prayer we pour out our heart's desire prayer also means that we surrender our will to God and we think about Jesus in the garden where he says Father take this cup from me but not my will but thine be done.

It's conversation with God it's companionship with God.

I'd like to read Psalm 27.

And just think about it in the context of a relationship with God and. Prayer it's a familiar Psalm the Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid when the wicked come up came against me to eat up my flesh my enemies and foes they stumbled and fell though an army may encamp against me my heart shall not fear though war should rise against me in this I will be confident one thing I have desired of the Lord that will I seek that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple for in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion in the secret place of his tabernacle he shall hide me he shall set me high upon a rock and now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tabernacle I will sing yes I will sing praises to the Lord hear O Lord when I cry with my voice have mercy also upon me and answer me when you said seek my face my heart said to you your face Lord I will seek do not hide your face from me do not turn your servant away in anger you have been my help do not leave me nor forsake me O God of my salvation when my father and my mother forsake me then the Lord will take care of me teach me your way O Lord and lead me in a smooth path because of my enemies do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries for false witnesses have risen against me and such as breathe out violence I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living wait on the Lord be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart wait I say on the Lord and I guess in there I just see this this relationship we pour out our we pour out our request to God.

We inquire in his temple and he talks about seeking his face what does it mean to seek the face of God. I guess we read over that sometimes and we don't we don't think about it but have you ever been to you've been away for a while and you and you come to an airport and someone's going to pick you someone's going to pick you up and so when you get off the plane and you enter that crowd where everyone's standing there and what are you doing you're seeking a face. I'm looking for a face here and we have an amazing ability to just turn it up there's the face that I'm looking for there's there's the loved one we're seeking his face and do we have that kind of.

Is that how we seek the face of God and so maybe this is why we can tell our children that we shut our eyes when we pray because that's who we want to see and I know I'm very very quickly.

If you're not paying attention very quickly distracted but he says seek my face. When you said seek my face my heart said to you your face O Lord I will seek. Do we have that kind of is that how we approach our relationship with God.

You know sometimes we feel like prayer is talking it's always talking but you know in a good relationship. Sometimes there's silence. Any of us who are married know that there's there's actually two kinds of silence.

If you've ever had a disagreement or a maybe you could say an argument with each other and there's just a time of silence and it's it's it's it's terrible I see you're driving along in the car and everyone's quiet and it's it's not at all comfortable it it it feels.

Something's not right. But there's also the kind of silence where everything's at peace you're in good relationship with each other and you're just riding along and you're you're quiet you're just in silence. But there's that communion there a silent communion and and I think our prayer.

It sometimes just involves being silent and hearing the voice of God speak to us.

And Jesus says we need this kind of prayer we need to pray so that we don't lose heart. And so he gives a story about this judge that didn't fear God he didn't really care about people either he wasn't a nice he wasn't a nice person at all.

And we also had this widow lady who she needed justice she had been wronged and she was asking for justice from the judge.

And says this widow. Just kept was persistent and kept. On this judge's case. And the judge said that this widow troubles me and the Greek word there means gives me a black eye.

And there's two ways to get black eyes one is if someone punches you in the eye but do you ever see someone that didn't go have sleep and after a while they have these big dark circles under their eyes and I think maybe that's that's the idea he she wasn't getting he wasn't getting any sleep because this widow kept coming to him and coming to him and coming to him.

And so finally the the judge relents and he gives he gives her justice and avenges her. And he says how much more. With a God who loves us this this judge didn't love God and he didn't love care about people how much more a God who loves us and who cares for us though he delays though he's delayed his coming.

Though sometimes we cry out O Lord Jesus how long how long till we shout the glad song Hallelujah Christ returneth. Justice will be served he will avenge his own. And so Jesus ends his story then with this question when the Son of Man comes will he find faith on the earth.

And I guess the question that I have for for myself this morning.

Is when the Son of Man comes will I be among the faithful.

Or am I connected to my stuff am I not prepared. And that's why we need to remember Lot's wife. Is there any any comments to the message.
