This message casts a vision for an annual gathering of kingdom Christians, for the purpose of seeking God together, encouraging one another, praying together, and teaching the scriptures. The early church, in Acts 2:42, “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” This vision includes like-minded believers to come together to hear faithful Bible teaching, to have fellowship with those of like precious faith, to share meals together, and to spend time praying with one another. Kingdom Christians are believers who are Christ-centered, Scripture-anchored, and kingdom-focused. They consider Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount as the Constitution of the Kingdom of God, and that obedience to Jesus and the apostles teachings as intrinsic to Christianity. They believe that they are citizens of another kingdom, not of this world, and that their ultimate loyalty is to their king, Jesus Christ. Kingdom Christians include groups such as many Conservative Anabaptists, Brethren (German Baptists), and many others who are not from these backgrounds, but have come to embrace the historic faith. Historically these also have included the Swiss Brethren, Moravians, Early Russian Evangelicals, Waldensians, and most notably the Early Church for the first 200-300 years.
