Very good course! The only thing missing, is a clarification on why this is not exclusive to married women, but also applies to singles. And along those lines the next question would be at what age and in what context girls should start covering their heads.

I really appreciated the insights from these lessons. The topics of proper headship, proper submission, and godly modesty are extremely important topics for kingdom-seeking Christians and kingdom-seeking congregations to learn about and practice.
May God strengthen our kingdom testimony.

This is a very thorough course that my wife and I really enjoyed taking together. I love how Kuruvilla unpacks each of the arguments Paul makes, and dismantles all the arguments against the headcovering.

It seems some of the quiz answers may be wrong... ? In quiz 1 there were a few I wondered about and in quiz 2 numbers 5 & 7.

I agree with the headcovering, but it can only be proven to be for worship. Bercot should do a teaching on this, as he seems to me to use more Scripture to create the paradigm shift for me. I have great respect for Finny. I have read his book and was edified, but very disappointed he did not address the arguments better with Scripture. The opening message was an appeal to emotion that led to his own testimony, but again, never provided Scriptural Context as to why 24/7 requirement. He had many fallacious or close to fallacious arguments throughout his teaching. I am not saying he was not sincere or purposeful in these fallacy arguments; they did not satisfy my analytical mind like Bercot's messages do when I have a pretext I am trying to overcome.

The instructor does a good job of explaining various aspects/ interpretations of 1 Cor 11. It would be hard to listen to this and dismiss the covering as unnecessary.
I wish there would be a little bit more content that is geared towards men.

This is by far the most complete and informative study on head covering that I have found in the three years of researching the subject. It has deepened my conviction to practice head covering and I highly encourage all women to take this course, whether you are new to the practice or have been practicing it for the entirety of your Christian journey. Thank you!

Very complete. I see other church's attempting to comply with these verses, but have never heard the details and relationship between modesty and power. I have understood the headcoving as a sign, but didn't connect it to the power. The power of submission I heard, but not in relationship to the coverings.

This course was thought-provoking and encouraging. All ages in our group appreciated and gained confidence of a practice we have long upheld in our fellowship. Discussing the subject from many perspectives was helpful. We appreciate Finny's honesty about the way covering is viewed in many conservative groups and pray this course changes the shame trend.

I had no idea there was this much teaching available on the head covering. As the only woman in my church who covers, I fell more confident now that I am following the Lord's direction in this matter.

I really enjoyed the course, it really truly helped to deepen my love and appreciation for how He (God) in His understanding and wisdom has designed things to be... And yes I heartily agree with brother Finny, I believe God has a special place in His eternal kingdom for all our fear Sisters who are willing to obey and take their part in taking their place in His beautiful orchestra of order...

I appreciated how Finny worked through this passage and appealed to our logic, to the witness of the rest of the Scriptures themselves, and also looked at what the Early Church said on the matter. I also appreciate how he gave references to those writers he was quoting so I could go look them up myself. In a culture that markets bondage as liberation, the church needs to hear that this passage is not about suppression or unequal value, but about true liberation!

I love how Finny approached the discussion with more historical information than I have gotten anywhere else. I began head covering after studying early church writings and listening to David Bercot on a local gospel station. I felt convicted on the subject and humbled myself before God and my husband to be more in line with Biblical teaching. I have sometimes felt that my modest dress and head covering afforded me special “power”, for lack of a better word, and I was glad to hear Finny mention this aspect. It is not easy to go against society, but I feel the blessing of submission. Thank you for your teaching!

This series on head covering has truly changed my view regarding the practice (to make me inclined to do it—boldly). It was such a revelation to learn the context of head covering in 1 Corinthians 11 is not specifically in the church gathering. The truth is hiding in plain sight! Thank you Finny.

I was raised an Evangelical Protestant, yet now I desire to live a Radical lifestyle; thank you for helping me. There are no Radical churches anywhere near me. Even the Mennonite churches around (California) here are much more Baptist than Anabaptist. Your teachings are very helpful to me, and through me, to my wife and children.

This was a great and stimulating class—I’d already done quite a bit of studying on this passage in the last few years, and had come to the conviction that this is something we should be practicing today...so I expected this to be a helpful review / reminder. Not only was it a very helpful reminder—and timely, as there has been lots of talk about gender roles in my church lately—but there also was a some very solid new (at least new to me!) information and insight. I’m grateful that in this course Finny also touches on some related passages such as 1 Cor. 14, 1 Tim. 2, etc. I have a lot to think about and reflect on. Thank you!

This short series of lectures by Finny Kuruvilla was extremely insightful. I like David Bercot's message on head coverings, but this one goes into much more detail and really explains the reasoning behind Paul's commands.

I was convinced by Scripture to begin covering my head about 10 years ago. Since then I have read numerous articles and books and listened to a great number of sermons. I have gained a lot of insight from many of those resources, but none treated the topic as thoroughly or as passionately as brother Kuruvilla has. I very much appreciate HIS appreciation for this topic. So often the passage and topic are treated as dry studies - and even when an author or presenter comes to the conclusion that this is a topic for the modern era, they often present it as a tough situation for women but, almost-sadly, applicable. I *love* that brother Kuruvilla sees the joy, honor, and beauty of it and shares that passion in a contagious way.

Thank you for this series.

I really appreciate people taking these difficult passages to task. I was taught that it was cultural, but after studying the early church and opening to wrestling with the reality of the headcovering with teachers like Finny, I just can't see it any other way than that it was certainly a literal covering. This course displayed the evidence well.

Great lesson that convinced me women/virgins need to wear a head covering. But I am not convinced that 1 Cor 11 teaches that women MUST wear head coverings in public or they are in sin any more than I believe a man that does wear a hat in public is in sin.

Thanks Finny for the clear and invigorating presentation.

This course beautifully puts a Christian woman’s role into perspective. It not only fully reveals biblical teaching on the wearing of a head covering, but is also some of the best teaching on the headship order I’ve ever heard!! May it infiltrate every part of my being! I recommend it to every Christian woman seeking to more fully live within Gods will for her.

The title illustrates my feelings after hearing this message the first time. Makes my heart sad for the many decieved people "out there". This life vision for men and women brings to mind the verse : and he went forth in the power of the Spirit. Its the only proven wy to face life.

I get frustrated that we don’t have more clear teaching on the veiling. They are very far and few in between, and not all in-depth.
I’m thankful that I discovered this website.
