Good evening, everyone. Let's begin this evening with number 136.
136.
Father in our mysterious presence nearly, faith would have sought him, though thy giving hour. For we are weak and these soundly revealing of trust and strength and thongness from above.
Glory and wonder, for through doubt and sorrow, when thou hast made each step an armored one, and we will ever trust each unknown borrow, thou wilt sustain us till its work is done.
Thou thou hear now in thy near presence nearly, our spirits turn to feel thy giving love. Now make us strongly ye thy deep revealing of trust and strength and thongness from above.
669.
669.
All these come abound of every blessing to my heart to sing thy praise. Streams of mercy never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious song yet, sung by flaming tongues above. Grace of mountain kiss upon it, mount of thy redeeming love.
Here I praise my heaven Easter, in her rhyme thy help I'm come. And I hope by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God, needs to rescue me from danger in her host's precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor, daily I'm constrained to be. Let thy grace, Lord, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee. So today shall, Lord, I feel it, ash of strength to wrench my love. Here's my heart, O, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.
Wow, good evening and welcome. I'm inspired already. This is exciting. All these men, how many are there? About 60 of you? Wow. God bless you. And welcome to your food house tonight.
I hope everybody found their way inside the door. I'm just going to read a few verses when we think of worship and song and music. The world has come very creative with music, and the world has a song tonight. I thought of a couple of verses in Colossians, chapter 3, verse 15 through 17. It says, "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body, and be you thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another, in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."
So you notice that and this is for the choir here. The song that you'll be singing here tonight has its roots according to verse 15. It has its roots in the peace of God. And I trust that all of you, each and every one of you, knows what it is to have the peace of God in your hearts.
Do you know what it cost to bring that to your heart? Cost all of heaven. Jesus coming all the way from glory, gave his life, broken body, shed blood so that you and I can have peace with God. So your songs I trust tonight have their roots in that very peace, and that makes your singing very special. It's also rooted and grounded in the word of God according to verse 16. The word of God is ruling in your hearts.
It's your wisdom. And then in the last part of the verse, it says, "You're going to be singing with grace in your hearts." That's special. That puts icing on the cake of music, doesn't it? When there's grace there, there's a flow there.
And then for those of us, it says here that they're going to be singing to the Lord in verse 17. You're not singing to us. You're singing to the Lord. We're not here to be entertained tonight. Do you notice that? It says, "We are here to be taught from their song. We are here to be admonished." This is not entertainment tonight.
It's an admonition. It's a teaching. It's wisdom coming from their songs and the word. The message of the song is going to penetrate into our hearts tonight, and I trust we'll go away from here tonight a better person. So let's worship together. Let's learn together. And God bless you as you sing. Let's just bow for a word of prayer.
God, we thank you for this special time here tonight. We thank you for your word. We thank you for that peace that you brought to our hearts through Jesus. And Lord, we pray tonight as we sing and as we worship, as we're instructed by your song tonight, may we learn the things we need to learn tonight and grow to be a better person from being here. Just bless the chorus. Give them what they need, Lord, to express your goodness to us tonight. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
We have come into his house and gathered in his name to worship him. We have come into his house and gathered in his name to worship him. We have come into his house and gathered in his name to worship Christ our Lord.
Worship him. Worship Christ our Lord.
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker.
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker.
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand and the sheep of his hand.
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker.
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker.
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand and the sheep of his hand.
I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice to worship you. O my soul rejoice. Take joy, my King. Live in what you hear. May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear. May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.
Sweet sound in your ear.
Well, good evening, everyone. It is good to see the house so well filled. A couple of quick announcements that I'd like to make here. This choir behind us, we call ourselves the Arise Men's Choir. This was just a short weekend of singing. This is not an ongoing course. Basically, it's about 60 of us. I think we're a few shy of that.
We got together, practiced a little bit Friday evening, most of the day on Saturday, gave a program Saturday evening, and we're here again tonight. And we will all go back to our jobs and our families just like regular. It's a great way for those of us that enjoy music to get out, do something a little special without the ongoing commitment that the chorus requires. So that's a little bit just if you're wondering who we are, what we are.
That's the background behind us.
Halfway through, as you notice on the program that you were handed out, there's an intermission, which will have a devotional as well as an offering, which will go toward the expenses for the weekend. Do something like this. There's expense for music, venue rental, all that kind of thing.
Takes some money. So your contribution there is very welcome, and thank you in advance.
Special thank you to each one of you behind me. This is the last time we're going to be together. Special thank you for signing up. This is the first year we've done something like this. So special thank you to each of you for giving it a shot. Really enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun.
Not perfect, but we really enjoyed it.
Special thank you to all the families, the moms, wives that have given up for those of us that took off work, took away from our families a little bit there. Special thank you to you for that sacrifice. All right.
I believe that's all the announcements I have. We're going to continue to the intermission. Like I said, there will be devotions and offering at that time.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Come and let your glory come and let your glory fall. Our Father, who art in heaven, the rocks cry out your fame. Come and let your glory come and let your glory fall. I will sing, sing a new song. I will sing, sing a new song. I will sing, sing a new song to the Lord.
Let your kingdom come. Let your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Every eye proclaim the mercy of your name. On earth as it is in heaven.
God, give us new every morning mercy as daily bread. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, we pray.
And lead us not to temptation, but deliver us with your hand. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, we pray.
I will sing, sing a new song. I will sing, sing a new song. I will sing, sing a new song to the Lord. Let your kingdom come. Let your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Every eye proclaim the mercy of your name.
On earth as it is in heaven.
For the kingdom is yours and the power is yours and the glory forever. Amen. Let your kingdom come. For the kingdom is yours and the power is yours and the glory forever. Amen. For the kingdom is yours and the power is yours and the glory forever. Amen.
Let your kingdom come. Let your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Every eye proclaim the mercy of your name. On earth as it is in heaven.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Come and let your glory come and let your glory fall. Come and let your glory come and let your glory fall.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing. Power and majesty praise through the King. Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of your name. I sing for joy at the work of your hand. Forever I'll love you. Forever I'll stand. Nothing compares to the promise I have in you.
My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like you. All of my days, I want to praise the wonders of your mighty love. My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength. Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship you.
Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy. Your stand. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy. Thank God. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy. All around. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy. Let us praise, praise him.
Praise him, Jesus, now. Praise him now. We are standing in his presence on holy ground. Let us praise, Jesus, now. Jesus, now. We are standing in his presence on holy ground. Let us praise him. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, Lord. Let us praise him now. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, Lord.
We are standing in his presence on holy ground. Holy, holy, holy, holy, Lord.
All mighty fortresses are gone. Able work never failing.
Our helper, he, amid the flood of mortal hills prevailing.
For still our ancient seek to work us, seek to work us. His craft and power, his craft and power. And mark with proof, and mark with proof. Honored is not his name. Honored is not his name.
Did we in our own strength confine our striving? Would be losing.
Were not the right man on our side, the man of God's own choosing.
Thus as to that praise, as to that praise. Jesus in Christ, Jesus in Christ. The Lord of hosts, the Lord of hosts. Thus as to H, thus as to H. Thus name us with the name, us with the banner.
All. All mighty fortresses are gone. All mighty fortresses are gone. Be still, my soul. Be still, my soul.
Be still, my soul. The Lord is on thy side. Fair patience lead. The cross of grief or faith. Leave to thy God to order and provide. In every change, he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul. Thy best, thy heavenly friend. Through thorny ways, leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul. Thy God doth undertake. To guide the future as he has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence. Let nothing change. All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul. The waves and winds still know his voice who rode them while he dwelt below.
Be still, my soul. The hour is hasting on. When we shall be forever with the Lord. When disappointment grief and fear are gone. Sorrow for God loves pure as joys restore. Be still, my soul. When change and tears are past.
All safe and blessed we shall be at last.
Be still, my soul. Be still, my soul.
When my heart is heavy, my spirit is low. The storms of blood around me flow. I call on the Master who sends down his love. And ask that we meet him in that home above. Close to the Master I'm trying to live.
Close to the one who loves and forgives. Close to the one who answers my prayer. Close to the one who welcomed me there.
When I feel discouraged on life's journey through. Thank God I know just what to do. I call on the Master who answers my prayer. And gives me a key to a mansion up there. Close to the Master I'm trying to live.
Close to the one who loves and forgives. Close to the one who answers my prayer. Close to the one who welcomed me there.
I'm gonna sing when the Spirit says, "Sing." I'm gonna sing when the Spirit says, "Sing." I'm gonna sing when the Spirit says, "Sing." And obey the Spirit of the Lord. I'm gonna pray when the Spirit says, "Pray." I'm gonna pray when the Spirit says, "Pray."
I'm gonna pray when the Spirit says, "Pray." And obey the Spirit of the Lord. I'm gonna shout, shout. I'm gonna shout when the Spirit says, "Shout." I'm gonna shout when the Spirit says, "Shout."
And obey the Spirit of the Lord. I'm gonna sing, I'm gonna sing, I'm gonna sing, I'm gonna sing, I'm gonna sing.
Well, good evening to each one of you this evening. It's a privilege to be here. It's a blessing to be here and to hear these men exercising the gifts that God has given them, the gift of music. It's inspiring, the harmony, the blessing that it is to our souls.
Randall messaged me and asked me to have this, and I agreed. I thought about, "Well, what do I talk about?" You all came here to hear singing, not talking. So what do I talk about tonight? And my thoughts went to, "Well, why are you here tonight?" And our brother touched on this just a little bit already. Are you here to be entertained tonight? Are you here to hear how good they are?
Are you here to hear them mess up? I pray that you're not. And I pray that you are here to worship, to glorify, and to praise the Lord that is our God.
I want to direct our thoughts a little bit towards praise tonight. When I think of praise, my mind goes to Psalms. Now, I know that David did not write all of the Psalms. But you think over the life of David, the ups and the downs, the mountains, the trials and tribulations, everything that he went through. But you see one exhortation that keeps coming out over and over again out of David's life, and that is to praise the Lord, and that is to worship the Lord and glorify the Lord. I'd like to read Psalms 100. I'm going to be reading a couple of chapters out of Psalms.
Psalms 100. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. It doesn't matter what nationality you are tonight. It doesn't matter where you're from. All lands, make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before His presence with singing. That is what we're doing here tonight. We're coming before the Lord with singing.
Know ye that the Lord, He is God. It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pastures. The Lord, He is God. He has made us.
We are not self-made tonight. If you're sitting here tonight and you think that you are here because of everything that you have done alone, I would challenge you to rethink tonight.
The Lord, He is God. He has made us. It is because of Him that we are His people, the sheep of His pastures.
Enter ye in. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His name. Are you thankful this evening to be here tonight? Are you thankful that you can come through those doors into His courts and praise Him tonight with thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is a form of praise.
Verse 5, we see why we praise the Lord. "For the Lord is good. His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endureth through all generations."
He is good. His mercy is never-ending. The same truth, the same word that has endured for our forefathers will endure for the generations to come after us as long as the Lord tarries. I'd like to go towards the end of Psalms and read Psalms 148.
I'd like to read this entire chapter. Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens. Praise Him in the heights. Praise ye Him, all His angels. Praise ye Him, all His hosts. Praise ye Him, sun and moon. Praise Him, all ye stars of light. Praise Him, ye heavens of heavens, ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded, and they were created. He hath also established them forever and ever. He hath made a decree which shall not pass. My Bible says God's word is sure right beside that.
Praise the Lord. From the earth, ye dragons and all deeps. Fire and hail, snow and vapor. Stormy winds fulfilling His word. Mountains and all the hills. Fruitful trees and all cedars. Beasts and all cattle. Creeping things and flying fowl. I want to stop right there for just a second. I want to paint us a picture. Everybody here has seen a Thomas Kinkade painting, I'm sure. I want you to think about this. Maybe this is a lame illustration, but I want to get a little bit of a picture here.
You picture that cabin out in the middle of the woods. Very serene. You're sitting on the front porch. It's a beautiful morning. The sun is just coming up. The birds and the animals that you can see, the birds are singing just as loud as you can imagine.
The animals are going about their duties, whether it's taking care of their young, whether it's gathering food.
Everything around you is doing exactly what the Lord has instructed it to do. Just imagine the harmony of nature just altogether.
Now, I want you to picture all of this. All of this together is praising God because it is doing exactly what God wants it to do. The birds are praising God with a song. All the animals, everything, the crick that's flowing by you, everything is in God's order and God's control and praising God through that. Now, I want you to imagine that it was not praising God.
What would that picture be like? You think of that picture, that serene harmony of nature working together, and what does it look like?
I don't know that you can really completely describe it because I don't believe that we've ever completely seen it. But I get the picture of trees without leaves, birds not singing, flowers dying. Maybe the sun comes up. Maybe the sun doesn't come up.
But that picture, that serene picture, is dull. It's not a real good-looking picture anymore. And I want to liken that to us tonight, just a little bit, if our spiritual lives tonight and our lives are not glorifying and praising God, we are dull. Our witness and our very being is dull.
When we become self-centered in the fact that everything that we have done is why we are here right now, that picture is dull. We glorify and we praise God through living His will, through living in the middle of His will, doing His commandments.
And when we genuinely praise God, our actions, our thoughts, our words, everything is in line with His righteous character.
Verse 11. Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the earth, both young men and maidens, old men and children, let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is excellent. His glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of His people, the praise of all His saints, even of the children of Israel, a people near unto Him. Praise ye the Lord.
Now, if you're sitting here tonight in Psalm 100, we see it doesn't matter where you're from in this. We see it doesn't matter what age you are, teenager. You're a young adult. You're a middle age. You're a senior. You're a man, a woman. It does not matter tonight. We are called to glorify and to praise the Lord. His name alone is excellent.
I'd like to go to the last chapter of Psalms here yet. Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary. Praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty axe. Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet. Praise Him with the solitary and harp. Praise Him with the timbre when dance. Praise Him with the stringed instrument and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals. Praise Him upon high-sounding cymbals.
What I see, what I pull out of this, is that everything that we do needs to be to the praise and glory of God. The music that we listen to, the music that we sing, the music that we produce, you put whatever you want in there, it has to be to the praise of God.
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. And once again, we get the exhortation that as long as we have breath, we are to praise the Lord.
So tonight, I want to challenge us. There is maybe some redundancy in the praising of the Lord tonight and in these chapters that I've read, but I want to encourage us, and I want to challenge us that when we are living in the world that we're living in, a self-centered, "I don't need nobody. I have everything that I need and I want," I want to remember or remind us that we need to be glorifying, that we need to praise the Lord. Psalm 107:8. Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men. I challenge each and every one of you here tonight that you would fully and genuinely worship and praise the Lord.
Let us bow our heads for word of prayer. Our Father in heaven, we come before You tonight. We thank You for Your many blessings. We thank You that we can be gathered here. Dear God, we thank You for this group of men, the sacrifice that they and their families have made to make this happen. We thank You, dear God, that we can praise You, that we can glorify You. Dear God, we ask Your forgiveness of where we have failed with this. We ask You to help us to do better with this, to praise You, and to remember that it is because of You that we are here. Dear God, we just ask You to be in our midst tonight.
Be with us as the evening continues. Just thank You for all Your many blessings. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Let's all stand and sing number 508.
508.
I have heard the voice, Lord Jesus, saying in Thy grace divine, "Hear thou not, I have redeemed thee. I have called thee Thou art mine. Lord, I bring thee full of ages thereforn out to Thee I sing, and string yet Thou hast redeemed me.
I am Thine, my Lord, my King.
I am nothing worth Thy taking now, whoever beholds Thy door. But my heart is longing, yearning to be Thine forevermore. So I come to Thee, Lord Jesus, praying in surrender me. All I am and have and hope for all my love at Thy dear feet.
Yet the offerings, dear, are humble which Thy children bring to Thee, and their best and sweetest praises are my friend here falteringly. But our song shall be triumph that when Thy glory we shall sing, all for Jesus, all for Jesus now and through eternity.
Come for a seat.
Number 92.
92.
So I hear the voice, "Oh me, oh my God, and praise Thee, oh my King. Yet every day and evermore Thy praises I will sing. Every day will I bless Thee. Every day will I bless Thee, and Thy will praise, will praise Thy name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, our mighty God, and greatly to be praised. His greatness is unsearchable above all glory raised. Every day will I bless Thee. Every day will I bless Thee, and Thy will praise, will praise Thy name forever and ever.
Upon Thy glorious majesty and honor I will dwell, and all Thy grand and glorious works and all Thy greatest hell. Every day will I bless Thee. Every day will I bless Thee, and Thy will praise, will praise Thy name forever and ever. Most gracious and compassionate is the who reigns above.
His wrath is ever slow to rise. Unbounded is His love. Every day will I bless Thee. Every day will I bless Thee, and Thy will praise, will praise Thy name forever and ever.
My Jesus knows. He knows when I am lonely. Yes, He knows. He knows each pain. Each pain. He sees each sin. He sees each sin. He understands. He understands each lonely heart. He understands. He understands. He understands. He understands and always cares. My Jesus knows. He knows just what I need. What I need. Oh, yes, He knows. He knows just what I need. What I need. He satisfies. He satisfies and every need supplies. Yes, He knows. He knows just what I need. What I need.
When other friends seem to forget me. Oh, yet He needs me. When skies are dark. When skies are dark and hopes seem to go. Hopes seem to go. By faith I feel. By faith I feel. His arms are wrapping me. His arms are wrapping me. And hear Him say, "Hear Him say, you're not alone, not alone." My Jesus knows. He knows just what I need. What I need. Oh, yes, He knows. He knows just what I need. What I need. He satisfies. He satisfies and every need supplies. Yes, He knows. He knows just what I need. What I need.
Yes, He knows just what I need.
Children, keep in the middle of the road. Of the road. Children, keep in the middle of the road. Don't you look. To the right. Don't you look. To the left. Just keep in the middle of the road. In the middle of the road. Children, keep in the middle of the road. Of the road. Children, keep in the middle of the road. Don't you look. To the right. Don't you look. To the left. Just keep in the middle of the road. In the middle of the road. In the middle of the road.
I hear those angels call in the middle of the road. Keep in the middle of the road. Keep in the middle of the road. Waiting there in a great big crowd. In the middle of the road. In the middle of the road.
I can see them staring out the big white gate. We must travel along before it gets too late. 'Cause there ain't no use for to sit down and wait. Just keep in the middle of the road. And children, keep in the middle of the road. Of the road. Children, keep in the middle of the road. Don't you look. To the right. Don't you look. To the left. Just keep in the middle of the road. In the middle of the road. In the middle of the road.
I ain't got time for to stop and dwell. In the middle of the road. Keep in the middle of the road. Keep in the middle of the road. Road is rough and it's hard. Keep in the middle of the road. In the middle of the road.
I can fix my eye on the golden stair, and I'll keep on going till I get there. For my head and bound that crown for to wear. Just keep in the middle of the road. And children, keep in the middle of the road. Of the road. Children, keep in the middle of the road. Don't you look. To the right. Don't you look. To the left. Just keep in the middle of the road. In the middle of the road. In the middle of the road.
When your voice gets tired and your song don't sing, don't look at the world full of sinful things. Don't lay down in the road for to die. Put on your wings and get up and fly. Keep in the middle of the road. And children, keep in the middle of the middle of the road. In the middle of the road.
Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold. Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold.
Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold. Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold.
Like a brag of radies are fleets. Like a shadow chastel passing by. Aren't your hands your hands that you mount your mouth? May your smoke be in our eyes. In our eyes. Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold.
Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold. Send your light, your light. Reach your hand, your hand. Reach your hand out, crowned out, hawada. Rescue me, spirit mighty, white divine. And from vast, strong falls of lies.
Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold. Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for the battle, my fortress and stronghold.
Once I stood in the night with my head bound low in the darkness as black as could be, and my heart felt alone, and I cried, "Oh Lord, don't hide your face from me." Hold my hand all the way, every hour, every day, from here to the great unknown.
Take my hand, let me stand where no one stands alone. Like a king, I may live in a palace so tall with great riches to call my own, but I don't know a thing in this whole wide world that's worse than being alone.
Hold my hand all the way, every hour, every day, from here to the great unknown. Take my hand, let me stand where no one stands alone. Take my hand, let me stand where no one stands alone. Where no one stands alone.
On Jordan's stormy banks I stand and cast a wishful eye to Canaan's fair and happy land where my possessions lie. I'm bound for promised land. I'm bound for promised land. No one will come and go with me. I am bound for promised land.
For all those wide extended plains shines one eternal day. Their God, the Sun, forever reigns and scatters thy tall waves. I'm bound for promised land. I'm bound for promised land. No one will come and go with me. I am bound for promised land.
Filled with delight, my raptured soul would here no longer stay. Though Jordan's waves around me roll, fearless I launch away. I'm bound for promised land. I'm bound for promised land. No one will come and go with me. I am bound for promised land.
I'm bound for promised land. I'm bound for promised land. No one will come and go with me. I'm bound for promised land.
There's a city, a beautiful city, just beyond the divine, where God's children shall rest eternal. There will ever abide, daily striving to reach that home, and we are going that way. Headed for glory, telling the story, we shall see heaven someday. Someday. Someday. We shall see Jesus someday, by and by. Someday. Someday. Our eyes shall behold Him in that city on high. We must not linger. We must keep moving. Jesus is leading the way, shouting and singing, joy bells ringing. We shall see heaven someday.
Like the saints who have gone before us, we're determined to stay in the path that is straight and narrow, leading us forward each day. Though we have problems, Jesus is faithful, all our needs to supply. The time is now nearing, the voice appearing for our heavenly flight. Someday. Someday. We shall see Jesus someday, by and by. Someday. Someday. Our eyes shall behold Him in that city on high. We must not linger. We must keep moving. Jesus is leading the way, shouting and singing, joy bells ringing. We shall see heaven someday.
Someday. Someday. We shall see Jesus someday, by and by. Someday. Someday. Our eyes shall behold Him in that city on high. We must not linger. We must keep moving. Jesus is leading the way, shouting and singing, joy bells ringing.
We shall see heaven someday.
Oh, when shall I see Jesus and reign with Him above? And shall hear the trumpet sound in that morning? And from the flowing fountain drink everlasting love, and shall hear the trumpet sound in that morning? Oh, shout with glory, I shall mount above the skies when I hear the trumpet sound in that morning.
Oh, shout with glory, I shall mount above the skies when I hear the trumpet sound in that morning. If the trumpet, if the trumpet, if the trumpet would. Now I am a soldier, my captain's gone before, and I hear the trumpet sound in that morning.
He's given me my orders, a kiss me ne'er give for, till I hear the trumpet sound in that morning. Oh, shout with glory, I shall mount above the skies when I hear the trumpet sound in that morning. Oh, shout with glory, I shall mount above the skies when I hear the trumpet sound in that morning. In that morning, in that morning, in that morning.
When I shall be delittered from this vain world of sin and shall hear the trumpet sound in that morning, in that morning, and with my blessed Jesus drink endless pleasures in and shall hear the trumpet sound in that morning, in that morning. Oh, shout with glory, I shall mount above the skies when I hear the trumpet sound in that morning.
Oh, shout with glory, I shall mount above the skies when I hear the trumpet sound, sound in that morning. In that morning, in that morning, in that morning, in that morning, in that morning, in that morning.
I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm getting ready. I'm getting ready for the judgment day, my Lord, my Lord. I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm getting ready. I'm getting ready for the judgment day, my Lord, my Lord. Are you ready, my brother?
Oh, yes. Are you ready for the journey? Oh, yes. Do you want to see your Jesus? Oh, yes. I'm waiting for the chariot 'cause I'm ready to go. I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm getting ready. I'm getting ready for the judgment day, my Lord, my Lord. Are you ready, my sister?
Oh, yes. Are you ready for the journey? Oh, yes. Do you want to see your Jesus? Oh, yes. 'Cause I'm waiting for the chariot 'cause I'm ready to go. I never can forget that day. Ride in the chariot to see my Lord.
When all my sins were taken away. Ride in the chariot to see my Lord. My feet were snatched from the mirey clay. Ride in the chariot to see my Lord. I'll serve my Lord till judgment day. Ride in the chariot to see my Lord.
Ride on. Ride on in the morning, Lord. Ride on in the morning, Lord. I'm getting ready. I'm getting ready for the judgment day, my Lord, my Lord. I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm gonna ride in the chariot in the morning, Lord. I'm gonna ride in the chariot to see my Lord, to see my Lord.
Thank you. Very well. Very well. I noticed the last, I think it was three or four songs, were sort of geared toward the future, preparing for judgment. We're going to meet Him. He's coming back again. And I appreciated that thought. It says Hebrews says of Abraham, our forefather, he was looking for a city. That's what kept him going. His builder and maker was God. He had a foundation. When we read Anabaptist history and our forefathers that were in persecution and hard times, they had this future hope set before them. And that's what took them through the hard times and took them to their burning of the stake with a song and with joy. It's because they had the hope of the future.
And we need that today. Thank you for sharing that hope with us tonight. I was truly blessed and inspired. God bless you. Any testimonies from anyone?
All right. Thanks again. And we're going to dismiss with that. And this is for you folks, an announcement. In the basement, there are some refreshments, a snack fellowship, hopefully, prepared for you and your families. So we're going to stand and have a closing prayer. Adrian, would you lead us in that and maybe give thanks for the food? And then if you have a song to close, Dylan. All right. Thank you.
We stand.
Father God, we thank you for this opportunity to praise you and share your word with each other here this evening. And it's asked that the time and the effort that's put into this would not return void, but would go out and be another opportunity to spread your kingdom and spread the word you've given to us. We thank you. And we do ask that you would receive all the glory from it. We also ask your blessing on the food that's prepared. Bless the hands that also worked to prepare it. And we just bless the ones that gave opportunity for us to sing here this evening. We just ask this in your name. Amen.
Number 531. The Lord is my light.
531.
The Lord is my light, is my life, and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength, is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? Nor hoe shall it cap against me. Nor hoe shall my heart shall not fear.
Nor hoe shall rise against me. Nor hoe shall rise against me. In this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the Lord that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord. That I. May dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, all the days of my life, all the days, all the days of my life.
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, all the days of my life, all the days, all the days of my life.
Amen.
