Story Behind the Song
Darlene Zschech wrote "Shout to the Lord" in Australia while serving in the worship ministry of Hills Christian Life Centre, later known as Hillsong Church. She has described it as emerging from a difficult personal season as a private song of praise and trust in Christ. It was popularized through Hillsong recordings in the mid-1990s and became one of the most widely sung contemporary worship songs internationally.
