Story Behind the Song
Ken Medema wrote both words and music for this short prayer song in the early 1970s. It became widely used in North American worship as a sung prayer response or invocation, asking God to hear the congregation and send the Spirit, love, power, and grace. The song is often printed under the title "Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying" and is also frequently arranged for choirs.
