Story Behind the Song
“Lead on Softly, Lord” is a sacred choral song credited in the supplied performance information as a composition by Maxine W. Posegate. It appears to belong to modern church-choral repertoire rather than to the widely indexed public-domain hymn tradition. I do not have a reliable published text, date, or lyricist attribution for the song.
