Bible Verses About The Origin Of Writing

Early Christian writers clearly taught that God and the prophets used writing, but these cards do not give enough direct evidence about the origin of writing itself. Tatian, Justin Martyr, Theophilus, Irenaeus, and others talk about when letters, alphabets, or histories were first written, and several Bible passages speak of God writing or of people writing by command. That supports a history of writing in salvation history, especially through Moses, the prophets, and letters.

But the supplied material is mostly about the age of writing, the use of letters, or who first used alphabets, not a clear early Christian doctrine on how writing began. Because there are fewer than two strong direct witnesses to the topic as stated, the evidence is thin.
