Bible Verses About Noah And The Flood

Early Christians taught that Noah was a real righteous man whom God saved through the ark and the flood. Clement of Rome, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Hippolytus, Theophilus of Antioch, Cyprian, and Lactantius all treat the flood as a real event, not a myth, and many say Noah was saved with his family while the wicked were destroyed. Several writers also use Noah and the ark as a picture of Christ, baptism, and the Church, especially Cyprian and Justin.

The evidence is broad and steady on the reality of the flood and Noah’s deliverance, but the typology is mixed with later moral and church-focused readings. Some cards are mostly date calculations or background, so they do not add much to the main teaching.
