And Bela, son of Beor, reigned in Edom; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

And Bela died; and Jobab, son of Zerah, from Bozrah reigned in his stead.

And Jobab died; and Husham, from the land of the Temanites, reigned in his stead.

And Husham died; and Hadad son of Bedad, who cut off Midian in the plain of Moab, ruled in his stead; and the name of his city was Getthaim.

And Hadad died; and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

And Samlah died; and Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

And Shaul died; and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died; and Hadar the son of Barad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Pau; and the name of his wife was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.

And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us, or shalt thou indeed be lord over us? And they hated him still more for his dreams and for his words.

The Lord reigns forever and ever and ever.

All the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned from Heshbon to the coasts of the children of Ammon;

And now hearken to their voice; only thou shalt solemnly testify to them, and thou shalt describe to them the manner of the king who shall reign over them.

And he said, This shall be the manner of the king that shall rule over you: he shall take your sons, and put them in his chariots, and among his horsemen, and running before his chariots,

And the Lord said to Samuel, Hearken to their voice, and appoint them a king. And Samuel said to the men of Israel, Let each man depart to his city.

And the people said to Samuel, Who has said that Saul shall not reign over us? Give up the men, and we will put them to death.

And Samuel said to all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened to your voice in all things that ye have said to me, and I have set a king over you.

And ye saw that Nahash king of the children of Ammon came against you, and ye said, Nay, none but a king shall reign over us; whereas the Lord our God is our king.

If ye should fear the Lord, and serve him, and hearken to his voice, and not resist the mouth of the Lord, and ye and your king that reigns over you should follow the Lord, well.

I have repented that I have made Saul to be king: for he has turned back from following me, and has not kept my word. And Samuel was grieved, and cried to the Lord all night.

And Samuel did not see Saul again till the day of his death, for Samuel mourned after Saul, and the Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.

And he said to him, Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be second to thee; and Saul my father knows it.

And now, behold, I know that thou shalt surely reign, and the kingdom of Israel shall be established in thy hand.

And David said to Achish, If now thy servant has found grace in thine eyes, let them give me, I pray thee, a place in one of the cities in the country, and I will dwell there: for why does thy servant dwell with thee in a royal city?

And the men of Judea come, and anoint David there to reign over the house of Judah; and they reported to David, saying, The men of Jabesh of the country of Gilead have buried Saul.

and made him king over the land of Gilead, and over Thasiri, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

Ish-bosheth, Saul’s son was forty years old, when he reigned over Israel; and he reigned two years, but not over the house of Judah, who followed David.

And the days which David reigned in Hebron over the house of Judah were seven years and six months.

And Abner spoke to the elders of Israel, saying, In former days ye sought David to reign over you;

Haste, and go in to King David, and thou shalt speak to him, saying, Hast not thou, my lord, O king, sworn to thy handmaid, saying, Thy son Solomon shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?

And she said, My lord, thou didst swear by the Lord thy God to thy handmaid, saying, Thy son Solomon shall reign after me, and shall sit upon my throne.

And now, behold, Adonijah reigns, and thou, my lord, O king, knowest it not.

And Nathan said, My lord, O king, didst thou say, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?

as I swore to thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead, so will I do this day.

And he shall sit upon my throne, and reign in my stead: and I have given charge that he should be for a prince over Israel and Judah.

And Jonathan answered and said, Verily our lord King David has made Solomon king:

And the days which David reigned over Israel were forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

were very many, as the sand which is by the sea for multitude, eating, and drinking, and rejoicing: were the princes of Solomon; Azariah son of Zadok the priest, and Orniu son of Nathan chief of the officers, and he went to his house; and Subas the scribe, and Basa son of Achithalam recorder, and Abi son of Joab commander-in-chief, and Achire son of Edrai was over the levies, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the household and over the brickwork, and Cachur the son of Nathan was counselor.

And King Solomon reigned over Israel.

this is the mischief which Hadad did, and he was a bitter enemy of Israel, and he reigned in the land of Edom.

And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign as thy soul desires, and thou shalt be king over Israel.

And the days during which Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel were forty years.

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father. And it came to pass when Jeroboam son of Nebat heard of it, even while he was yet in Egypt as he fled from the face of Solomon and dwelt in Egypt, he straightaway comes into his own city, into the land of Zeredah in the mount of Ephraim. And King Solomon slept with his fathers, and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

And King Rehoboam goes to Shechem; for all Israel were coming to Shechem to make him king.

And it came to pass when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned out of Egypt, that they sent and called him to the assembly, and they made him king over Israel: and none followed the house of David except the tribe of Judah and Benjamin only.

And Rehoboam son of Solomon ruled over Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in the city Jerusalem, which the Lord chose to put his name there out of all the tribes of Israel: and his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

And it came to pass in the fifth year of the reign of Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem;

And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Abijam his son reigned in his stead.

And in the eighteenth year of the reign of Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam son of Rehoboam reigns over Judah.

And he reigned three years over Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Maacah, daughter of Absalom.

And Abijam slept with his fathers in the twenty-fourth year of Jeroboam; and he is buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Asa his son reigns in his stead.

In the four and twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa begins to reign over Judah.

And he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Ana, daughter of Absalom.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigns in his stead.

And Nadab son of Jeroboam reigns over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned two years in Israel.

And Baasha slew him in the third year of Asa son of Asa king of Judah; and reigned in his stead.

And it came to pass when he reigned, that he smote the whole house of Jeroboam, and left none that breathed of Jeroboam, until he had destroyed him utterly, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

And in the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah begins to reign over Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

And Baasha slept with his fathers, and they bury him in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigns in his stead.

And Elah son of Baasha reigned over Israel two years in Tirzah.

And Zimri went in and smote him and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

And it came to pass when he reigned, when he sat upon his throne,

And Zimri reigned in Tirzah seven days: and the army of Israel was encamped against Gibbethon of the Philistines.

And the people heard in the army, saying, Zimri has conspired and smitten the king: and the people of Israel made Omri the captain of the host king in that day in the camp over Israel.

Then the people of Israel divides; half the people goes after Tibni the son of Ginath to make him king; and half the people goes after Omri.

The people that followed Omri overpowered the people that followed Tibni son of Ginath: and Tibni died and Joram his brother at that time, and Omri reigned after Tibni.

In the thirty-first year of King Asa, Omri begins to reign over Israel twelve years: he reigns six years in Tirzah.

And Omri slept with his fathers, and is buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigns in his stead. being thirty-five years old in the beginning of his reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Azubah, daughter of Shilhi. even from doing right in the eyes of the Lord: only they removed not any of the high places; they sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? but a deputy.

And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.

And Ahab slept with his fathers, and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa reigned over Judah: in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel began Jehoshaphat to reign.

Thirty and five years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi.

And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried by his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

And Ahaziah son of Ahab reigned over Israel in Samaria: in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Ahaziah son of Ahab reigned over Israel in Samaria two years.

And Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign in Israel in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned twelve years.

And he took his eldest son whom he had designed to reign in his stead, and offered him up for a whole burnt offering on the walls. And there was a great indignation against Israel; and they departed from him, and returned to their land.

And Hazael said, Who is thy servant? a dead dog, that he should do this thing? And Elisha said, The Lord has shown me thee ruling over Syria.

And it came to pass on the next day that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and put it on his face, and he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.

In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel, and while Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.

Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they made a king over themselves.

So Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of his father David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

In the twelfth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram began to reign.

Twenty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem: and the name of his mother was Athaliah, daughter of Omri king of Israel.

And when they heard it, they hastened, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with the trumpet, and said, Jehu is king.

And in the eleventh year of Joram king of Israel, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.

So they that were over the house, and they that were over the city, and the elders and the guardians, sent to Jehu, saying, We also are thy servants, and whatsoever thou shalt say to us we will do; we will not make any man king: we will do that which is right in thine eyes.

And Jehu slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

And the days which Jehu reigned over Israel were twenty-eight years in Samaria.

And he remained with her hidden in the house of the Lord six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.

And he brought forth the king’s son, and put upon him the crown and gave him the testimony; and he made him king, and anointed him: and they clapped their hands, and said, Long live the king.

Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign.

Jehoash began to reign in the seventh year of Jehu, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.

And Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad Shomer’s son, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah began Jehoahaz the son of Jehu to reign in Samaria, and he reigned seventeen years.

And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.

In the thirty-seventh year of Jehoash king of Judah, Joash the son of Jehoahaz began to reign over Israel in Samaria sixteen years.

And Hazael king of Syria died, and the son of Hadad his son reigned in his stead.
