For the Lord will not cast off his people for his great name’s sake, because the Lord graciously took you to himself for a people.

And she came to Elisha to the mountain, and laid hold of his feet; and Gehazi drew near to thrust her away. And Elisha said, Let her alone, for her soul is much grieved in her, and the Lord has hidden it from me, and has not told it me.

And the Lord was angry with the whole seed of Israel, and troubled them, and gave them into the hand of them that spoiled them, until he cast them out of his presence.

And I will reject the remnant of my inheritance, and will deliver them into the hands of their enemies; and they shall be for a plunder and for a spoil to all their enemies:

And the Lord said, I will also remove Judah from my presence, as I removed Israel, and will reject this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.

In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah this Passover was kept, after all these things that Josiah did in the house. king like him before him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, and all his soul, and all his strength, according to all the law of Moses, and after him there rose up none like him. even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.

Let one drive him from light into darkness.

For the temperate understanding repels all these malignant passions, as it does wrath: for it masters even this.

Press thou not upon him, lest thou be put back; Stand not far off, lest thou be forgotten.
