And I was not counted worthy to embrace my children and my daughters; now then thou hast wrought foolishly.

thy request, queen Esther? speak, and thou shalt have all that thou requirest.

And the king returned from the garden; and Haman had fallen upon the bed, entreating the queen. And the king said, Wilt thou even force my wife in my house? And when Haman heard it, he changed countenance.

And she spoke yet again to the king, and fell at his feet, and besought him to do away the mischief of Haman, and all that he had done against the Jews.

And the king said to Esther, The Jews have slain five hundred men in the city Susa; and how, thinkest thou, have they used them in the rest of the country? What then dost thou yet ask, that it may be done for thee?

Behold now, these shall be terrified with fear of you: those whom ye feared shall cry out because of you: messengers shall be sent, bitterly weeping, entreating for peace.

Therefore pray not thou for this people, and intercede not for them to be pitied, yea, pray not, and approach me not for them: for I will not hearken unto thee.

And thou, pray not for this people, and intercede not for them in supplication and prayer: for I will not hear in the day in which they call upon me, in the day of their affliction.

And Daniel purposed in his heart, that he would not defile himself with the king’s table, nor with the wine of his drink: and he entreated the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

And Daniel entreated the king to give him time, and that he might thus declare to the king the interpretation of it.

I give thanks to thee, and praise thee, O God of my fathers, for thou hast given me wisdom and power, and hast made known to me the things which we asked of thee; and thou hast made known to me the king’s vision.

and Abednego, in the province of Babylon, and advanced them, and gave them authority to rule over all the Jews who were in his kingdom.

Then these men watched, and found Daniel praying and supplicating to his God.

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

The women also with cords about them, sitting in the ways, burn bran for perfume: but if any of them, drawn by some that passeth by, lie with him, she reproacheth her fellow, that she was not thought as worthy as herself, nor her cord broken.
