And he went to the place whence he came, into the wilderness as far as Bethel, as far as the place where his tent was before, between Bethel and Ai,

And the servant said to him, Shall I carry back thy son to the land whence thou camest forth, if haply the woman should not be willing to return with me to this land?

Go ye, yourselves, get for yourselves straw whencesoever ye can find it, for nothing is diminished from your rate.

And of these thou shalt beat some small, and thou shalt put it before the testimonies in the tabernacle of testimony, whence I will make myself known to thee: it shall be to you a most holy incense.

Lest the inhabitants of the land whence thou broughtest us out speak, saying, Because the Lord could not bring them into the land of which he spoke to them, and because he hated them, has he brought them forth to slay them in the wilderness.

For the land into which thou goest to inherit it, is not as the land of Egypt, whence ye came out, whensoever they sow the seed, and water it with their feet, as a garden of herbs:

Let thine eyes be on the field where my men shall reap, and thou shalt go after them: behold, I have charged the young men not to touch thee: and when thou shalt thirst, then thou shalt go to the vessels, and drink of that which the young men shall have drawn.

And they feared the Lord, and served their gods according to the manner of the nations, whence their lords brought them.

Before I go whence I shall not return, To a land of darkness and gloominess;

For there is a place for the silver, whence it comes, And a place for the gold, whence it is refined.

All flesh would die together, And every mortal would return to the earth, whence also he was formed.

And it shall happen to him from every side, that they from whom their hope of assistance was, in which he trusted, themselves shall war against him in turn with drums and with harp.

and all by whom they were made are withered: yea, let all the deaf be gathered from among men, and let them stand together; and let them be ashamed and confounded together:

But whereas ye have trusted in lying words, whereby ye shall not be profited;

and I will turn the captivity of the Egyptians, and will cause them to dwell in the land of Pathros, in the land whence they were taken;

Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

But they counted our life a pastime, And our time here a market for gain: For, say they, we must be getting every way, though it be by evil means.

And he that cannot put to death one that offendeth him holdeth a scepter, as though he were a judge of the country.

Upon their bodies and heads sit bats, swallows, and birds, and the cats also.

And the fire sent from above to consume hills and woods doeth as it is commanded: but these are like unto them neither in show nor power.
