Twenty and three years old was Jehoahaz when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

Twenty and one years old was Zedekiah when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah.

And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.

and Sabbath keeping all the days of its desolation, till the accomplishment of seventy years.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

And Jeremiah came from the place of the Fall, whither the Lord had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the Lord’s house; and said to all the people, Thus saith the Lord;

Now Pashhur the son of Immer, the priest, who also had been appointed chief of the house of the Lord, heard Jeremiah prophesying these words.

And Pashhur brought Jeremiah out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah said to him, The Lord has not called thy name Pashhur, but Exile.

The word that came from the Lord to Jeremiah, when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchiah, and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah, the priest, saying,

And Jeremiah said to them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah king of Judah,

And the Lord said to me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? and I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, for their badness.

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah;

The prophecies of Jeremiah against the nations of Elam.

The words which the Lord spoke by Jeremiah, concerning the coming of the king of Babylon to smite the land of Egypt.

The word which the Lord commanded the prophet Jeremiah to say to Seraiah son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, when he went from Zedekiah king of Judah to Babylon, in the fourth year of his reign. And Seraiah was over the bounties.

And Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evils which should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.

And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou art come to Babylon, and shalt see and read all these words;

And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

And the priests, and the false prophets, and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord.

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had ceased speaking all that the Lord had ordered him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the false prophets and all the people took him, saying,

Thou shalt surely die, because thou hast prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, This house shall be as Shiloh, and this city shall be made quite destitute of inhabitants. And all the people assembled against Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

Then Jeremiah spoke to the princes, and to all the people, saying, The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city, all the words which ye have heard.

And there was another man prophesying in the name of the Lord, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath-jearim; and he prophesied concerning this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.

Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, to prevent his being delivered into the hands of the people, or being killed.

Then Jeremiah spoke to Hananiah in the sight of all the people, and in the sight of the priests that stood in the house of the Lord,

and Jeremiah said, May the Lord indeed do thus; may he confirm thy word which thou dost prophesy, to return the vessels of the house of the Lord, and all the captivity, out of Babylon to this place.

Then Hananiah took the yokes from the neck of Jeremiah in the sight of all the people, and broke them to pieces.

And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus said the Lord; Thus will I break the yoke of the king of Babylon from the necks of all the nations. And Jeremiah went his way.

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, after that Hananiah had broken the yokes off his neck, saying,

And Jeremiah said to Hananiah, The Lord has not sent thee; and thou hast caused this people to trust in unrighteousness.

And these are the words of the book which Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the false prophets, even an epistle to Babylon for the captivity, and to all the people

And now wherefore have ye reviled together Jeremiah of Anathoth, who prophesied to you?

And Zephaniah read the book in the ears of Jeremiah.

Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

The word that came from the Lord to Jeremiah in the tenth year of King Zedekiah, this is the eighteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

And the host of the king of Babylon had made a rampart against Jerusalem: and Jeremiah was kept in the court of the prison, which is in the king’s house;

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the second time, when he was yet bound in the court of the prison, saying,

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord (now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the country of his dominion, were warring against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah), saying,

And Jeremiah spoke to King Zedekiah all these words in Jerusalem.

The word that came from the Lord to Jeremiah, after King Zedekiah had concluded a covenant with the people, to proclaim a release;

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, saying,

So Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and he wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord, which he had spoken to him, on a roll of a book.

And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am in prison; I cannot enter into the house of the Lord:

And Baruch did according to all that Jeremiah commanded him—reading in the book the words of the Lord in the Lord’s house.

And Baruch read in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord, in the house of Gemariah son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, in the entrance of the new gate of the house of the Lord, and in the ears of all the people.

And Baruch said, Jeremiah told me from his own mouth all these words, and I wrote them in a book.

And they said to Baruch, Go, and hide, thou and Jeremiah; let no man know where ye are.

And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, to take Baruch and Jeremiah: but they were hidden.

Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, after the king had burned the roll, even all the words which Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

And Baruch took another roll, and wrote upon it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim had burned: and there were yet more words added to it like the former.

And he and his servants and the people of the land hearkened not to the words of the Lord, which he spoke by Jeremiah.

And King Zedekiah sent Jehucal son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the priest son of Maaseiah to Jeremiah, saying, Pray now for us to the Lord.

Now Jeremiah came and went through the midst of the city: for they had not put him into the house of the prison.

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

that Jeremiah went forth from Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to buy thence a property in the midst of the people.

And he was in the gate of Benjamin, and there was there a man with whom he lodged, Irijah the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he caught Jeremiah, saying, Thou art fleeing to the Chaldeans.

And he said, It is false; I do not flee to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him; and Irijah caught Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

And the princes were very angry with Jeremiah, and smote him, and sent him into the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made this a prison.

So Jeremiah came into the dungeon, and into the cells, and he remained there many days.

And Jeremiah said to the king, Wherein have I wronged thee, or thy servants, or this people, that thou puttest me in prison?

Then the king commanded, and they cast him into the prison, and gave him a loaf a day out of the place where they bake, until the bread failed out of the city. So Jeremiah continued in the court of the prison.

And Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, heard the words which Jeremiah spoke to the people, saying,

And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian heard (now he was in the king’s household), that they had put Jeremiah into the dungeon; and the king was in the gate of Benjamin:

So Ebed-melech took the men, and went into the underground part of the king’s house, and took thence old rags and old ropes, and threw them to Jeremiah into the dungeon.

And he said, Put these under the ropes. And Jeremiah did so.

And they drew him with the ropes, and lifted him out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

And Jeremiah said to the king, If I tell thee, wilt thou not certainly put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, thou wilt not at all hearken to me.

And Jeremiah said to him, Thus saith the Lord; If thou wilt indeed go forth to the captains of the king of Babylon, thy soul shall live, and this city shall certainly not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thy house.

And the king said to Jeremiah, I consider the Jews that have gone over to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hands, and they mock me.

And Jeremiah said, They shall in nowise deliver thee up. Hear the word of the Lord which I speak to thee; and it shall be better for thee, and thy soul shall live.

And all the princes came to Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words, which the king had commanded him. And they were silent, because the word of the Lord was not heard.

And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison, until the time when Jerusalem was taken.

and they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and gave him in charge to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan: and they brought him out, and he sat in the midst of the people.

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah in the court of the prison, saying,

The word that came from the Lord to Jeremiah, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go out of Ramah, when he had taken him in manacles in the midst of the captivity of Judah, even those who were carried to Babylon.

to Jeremiah the prophet, and said to him, Let now our supplication come before thy face, and pray thou to the Lord thy God for this remnant; for we are left few out of many, as thine eyes see.

And Jeremiah said to them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray for you to the Lord our God, according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever word the Lord God shall answer, I will declare it to you; I will not hide anything from you.

And they said to Jeremiah, Let the Lord be between us for a just and faithful witness, if we do not according to every word which the Lord shall send to us.

And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah.

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah ceased speaking to the people all the words of the Lord, for which the Lord had sent him to them, even all these words,

that Azariah son of Hoshaiah spoke, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the men who had spoken to Jeremiah, saying, It is false: the Lord has not sent thee to us, saying, Enter not into Egypt to dwell there:

the mighty men, and the women, and the children that were left, and the daughters of the king, and the souls which Nebuzaradan had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.

And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

The word that came to Jeremiah for all the Jews dwelling in the land of Egypt, and for those settled in Migdol and in Tahpanhes, and in the land of Pathros, saying,

Then all the men that knew that their wives burned incense, and all the women, a great multitude, and all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

Then Jeremiah answered all the people, the mighty men, and the women, and all the people that returned him these words for answer, saying,

And Jeremiah said to the people, and to the women, Hear ye the word of the Lord.

The word which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in the book from the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.

It was the twenty-first year of Zedekiah, when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.

I Daniel understood by books the number of the years which was the word of the Lord to the prophet Jeremiah, even seventy years for the accomplishment of the desolation of Jerusalem.

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

But the king of Egypt sent to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, O king of Judea?

Then said the king unto his servants, Carry me away out of the battle; for I am very weak. And immediately his servants took him away out of the battle.

So after a year Nebuchadnezzar sent and caused him to be brought into Babylon with the holy vessels of the Lord.

And they took all the holy vessels of the Lord, both great and small, with the vessels of the ark of God, and the king’s treasures, and carried them away into Babylon.

In the first year of Cyrus king of the Persians, that the word of the Lord might be accomplished, that he had promised by the mouth of Jeremiah;

And of the sons of Bani: Jeremai, Momdius, Maerus, Joel, Mamdai, and Bedeiah, and Vaniah, Carabasion, and Eliashib, and Mamitanemus, Eliasis, Binnui, Elialis, Shimei, Shelemiah, Nethaniah: and of the sons of Ezora; Shashai, Azarel, Azael, Samatus, Zambris, Joseph.

It is also found in the records, that Jeremiah the prophet commanded them that were carried away to take of the fire, as it hath been signified:

And when Jeremiah came thither, he found a hollow cave, wherein he laid the tabernacle, and the ark, and the altar of incense, and so stopped the door.

Which when Jeremiah perceived, he blamed them, saying, As for that place, it shall be unknown until the time that God gather his people again together, and receive them unto mercy.

Then Onias answered, saying, This is a lover of the brethren, who prayeth much for the people, and for the holy city, to wit, Jeremiah the prophet of God.

Whereupon Jeremiah holding forth his right hand gave to Judas a sword of gold, and in giving it spoke thus,

For they entreated him evil, Who nevertheless was a prophet, sanctified in his mother’s womb, That he might root out, and afflict, and destroy; And that he might build up also, and plant.
