Strong's G1706 ἐμπίπτω (empipto)

Now the salt valley consists of slime pits. And the king of Sodom fled and the king of Gomorrah, and they fell in there: and they that were left fled to the mountain country.

And if anyone open a pit or dig a cavity in stone, and cover it not, and an ox or an ass fall in there,

And he was very thirsty, and wept before the Lord, and said, Thou hast been well pleased to grant this great deliverance by the hand of thy servant, and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

In those days there was no king in Israel; and in those days the tribe of Dan sought for itself an inheritance to inhabit, because no inheritance had fallen to it until that day in the midst of the tribes of the children of Israel.

And the lords of the Philistines said, Who are these that pass by? And Achish said to the captains of the Philistines, Is not this David the servant of Saul king of Israel? he has been with us some time, even this second year, and I have not found any fault in him from the day that he attached himself to me even until this day.

And David said to Gad, On every side I am much straitened: let me fall now into the hands of the Lord, for his compassions are very many; and let me not fall into the hands of man.

If we should say, Let us go into the city, then there is famine in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit here, then we shall die. Now then come, and let us fall upon the camp of the Syrians: if they should take us alive, then we shall live; and if they should put us to death, then we shall only die.

And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard removed the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the men who had deserted to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

And David said to Gad, They are very hard for me, even all the three: let me fall now into the hands of the Lord, for his mercies are very abundant, and let me not fall by any means into the hands of man.

He has opened a pit, and dug it up, And he shall fall into the ditch which he has made.

They have prepared snares for my feet, And have bowed down my soul: They have dug a pit before my face, And fallen into it themselves. Pause.

But fools will meditate evils.

For a senseless man will not be able to purchase wisdom. And he that turns aside from instruction shall fall into mischiefs.

A man of a changeful tongue will fall into mischiefs;

He that digs a pit shall fall into it; And him that breaks down a hedge a serpent shall bite.

that ye may not fall into captivity? For all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is yet exalted.

And destruction shall come upon thee, and thou shalt not be aware; there shall be a pit, and thou shalt fall into it: and grief shall come upon thee, and thou shalt not be able to be clear; and destruction shall come suddenly upon thee, and thou shalt not know.

He that flees from the terror shall fall into the pit, and he that comes up out of the pit shall even be taken in the snare: for I will bring these things upon Moab in the year of their visitation.

As if a man should flee from the face of a lion, and a bear should meet him; and he should spring into his house, and lean his hands upon the wall, and a serpent should bite him.

And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Saying, We will fall into the hands of the Lord, and not into the hands of men: For as his majesty is, so is his mercy.

Strive not with a mighty man, Lest thou fall into his hands.

Meet not with a harlot, Lest thou fall into her snares.

Press thou not upon him, lest thou be put back; Stand not far off, lest thou be forgotten.

Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: And he that setteth a trap shall be taken therein.

Such as forsake the Lord shall fall into it; And it shall burn in them, and not be quenched; It shall be sent upon them as a lion, And devour them as a leopard.

A wicked man transgressing the commandments of the Lord shall fall into suretyship: And he that undertaketh and followeth other men’s business for gain shall fall into suits.

Help thy neighbor according to thy power, And beware that thou thyself fall not into the same.

He that sinneth before his Maker, Let him fall into the hand of the physician.

Neither can they judge their own cause, nor redress a wrong, being unable: for they are as crows between heaven and earth.
