But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance, nor on his stature, for I have rejected him; for God sees not as a man looks; for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.

Then the king and the princes looked one upon another: so he began to speak of the truth.

And also in that he perceived that there was great favor laid up for those that died godly, it was a holy and good thought. Whereupon he made a reconciliation for the dead, that they might be delivered from sin.

Look at the generations of old, and see; Did ever any trust in the Lord, and was confounded? Or did any abide in his fear, and was forsaken? Or whom did he ever despise, that called upon him?

Behold not everybody’s beauty, And sit not in the midst of women.

He seeketh out the deep, and the heart, And considereth their crafty devices: For the Lord knoweth all that can be known, And he beholdeth the signs of the world,

They compassed me on every side, And there was no man to help me: I looked for the succor of men, but there was none.
