Strong's G1557 ἐκδίκησις (ekdikesis)

And I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite every firstborn in the land of Egypt both man and beast, and on all the gods of Egypt will I execute vengeance: I am the Lord.

Avenge the wrongs of the children of Israel on the Midianites, and afterward thou shalt be added to thy people.

And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm some of you, and set yourselves in array before the Lord against Midian, to inflict vengeance on Midian from the Lord.

And the Egyptians buried those that died of them, even all that the Lord smote, every firstborn in the land of Egypt; also the Lord executed vengeance on their gods.

In the day of vengeance I will recompense, Whensoever their foot shall be tripped up; For the day of their destruction is near to them, And the judgments at hand are close upon you.

And she said to him, Father, hast thou opened thy mouth to the Lord? Do to me accordingly as the word went out of thy mouth, in that the Lord has wrought vengeance for thee on thine enemies of the children of Ammon.

And his father and his mother knew not that it was of the Lord, that he sought to be revenged on the Philistines: and at that time the Philistines lorded it over Israel.

The Lord who avenges me is strong, Chastening the nations under me,

It is God that avenges me, And has subdued the nations under me;

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance of the ungodly: He shall wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.

Lest haply they should say among the heathen, Where is their God? And let the avenging of thy servants’ blood that has been shed Be known among the heathen before our eyes.

A Psalm of David for the fourth day of the week. The Lord is a God of vengeance; The God of vengeance has declared himself.

To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments among the peoples;

And he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and placed the helmet of salvation on his head; and he clothed himself with the garment of vengeance, and with his cloak,

For, behold, the Lord will come as fire, and his chariots as a storm, to render his vengeance with wrath, and his rebuke with a flame of fire.

O Lord, that judgest righteously, trying the reins and hearts, let me see thy vengeance taken upon them, for to thee I have declared my cause.

For I have heard the reproach of many gathering round, saying, Conspire ye, and let us conspire together against him, even all his friends: watch his intentions, if perhaps he shall be deceived, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall be avenged on him.

O Lord, that provest just deeds, understanding the reins and hearts, let me see thy vengeance upon them: for to thee I have revealed my cause.

And that day shall be to the Lord our God a day of vengeance, to take vengeance on his enemies: and the sword of the Lord shall devour, and be glutted, and be drunken with their blood: for the Lord has a sacrifice from the land of the north at the river Euphrates.

Also her hired soldiers in the midst of her are as fatted calves fed in her; for they also have turned, and fled with one accord: they stood not, for the day of destruction was come upon them, and the time of their retribution.

and prevail against her: her hands are weakened, her bulwarks are fallen, and her wall is broken down: for it is vengeance from God: take vengeance upon her; as she has done, do to her.

Dry ye up all her fruits, and let them go down to the slaughter: woe to them! for their day is come, and the time of their retribution.

A voice of men fleeing and escaping from the land of Babylon, to declare to Zion the vengeance that comes from the Lord our God.

Behold, I am against thee the haughty one, saith the Lord: for thy day is come, and the time of thy retribution.

Flee ye out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every one his soul: and be not overthrown in her iniquity; for it is the time of her retribution from the Lord; he is rendering to her a recompense.

Prepare the arrows; fill the quivers: the Lord has stirred up the spirit of the king of the Medes: for his wrath is against Babylon, to destroy it utterly; for it is the Lord’s vengeance, it is the vengeance of his people.

Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will judge thine adversary, and I will execute vengeance for thee; and I will waste her sea, and dry up her fountain.

Thou hast seen all their vengeance, Thou hast looked on all their devices against me.

Shall I utterly take vengeance on them, son of man? testify to them of the iniquities of their fathers:

And I will execute vengeance on the heathen in anger and wrath, because they hearkened not.

therefore I will take away their goods as a devouring moth, and as one who acts by a rigid rule in a day of visitation. Woe, woe, thy times of vengeance are come; now shall be their lamentations.

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

Then said Uzziah and the princes unto her, Go in peace, and the Lord God be before thee, to take vengeance on our enemies.

O Lord God of my father Simeon, to whom thou gavest a sword to take vengeance of the strangers, who loosened the girdle of a maid to defile her, and discovered the thigh to her shame, and polluted her virginity to her reproach; for thou saidst, It shall not be so; and yet they did so:

Take also unto you all those that observe the law, and avenge ye the wrong of your people.

So he made him ready to go up, and there went with him a mighty host of the ungodly to help him, and to be avenged of the children of Israel.

and they went unto the king, and said, How long will it be ere thou execute judgment, and avenge our brethren?

And him he sent with that wicked Alcimus, whom he made high priest, and commanded that he should take vengeance of the children of Israel.

he went out into all the coasts of Judea round about, and took vengeance of them that had revolted from him, so that they durst no more go forth into the country.

be avenged of this man and his host, and let them fall by the sword: remember their blasphemies, and suffer them not to continue any longer.

So when they had avenged fully the blood of their brother, they turned again to the marsh of Jordan.

For know ye, that should we conceive any evil design against, or in any manner aggrieve them, we shall ever have as our opposite, not man, but the highest God, the ruler of all might. From Him there will be no escape, as the avenger of such deeds. Fare ye well.

But for the foolish devices of their wickedness, Wherewith being deceived they worshiped serpents void of reason, and vile beasts, Thou didst send a multitude of unreasonable beasts upon them for vengeance:

And say not, Who shall control me for my works? For the Lord will surely revenge thy pride.

Make no tarrying to turn to the Lord, And put not off from day to day: For suddenly shall the wrath of the Lord come forth, And in thy security thou shalt be destroyed, And perish in the day of vengeance.

Humble thy soul greatly: For the vengeance of the ungodly is fire and worms.

For the most High hateth sinners, And will repay vengeance unto the ungodly, And keepeth them against the mighty day of their punishment.

Think upon the wrath that shall be at the end, And the time of vengeance, when he shall turn away his face.

And any affliction, but the affliction from them that hate me: And any revenge, but the revenge of enemies.

Mockery and reproach are from the proud; But vengeance, as a lion, shall lie in wait for him.

He that revengeth shall find vengeance from the Lord, And he will surely keep his sins in remembrance.

Go not in a way wherein thou mayest fall, And stumble not among the stones.

There be spirits that are created for vengeance, Which in their fury lay on sore strokes; In the time of destruction they pour out their force, And appease the wrath of him that made them.

Fire, and hail, and famine, and death, All these were created for vengeance;

For they sought out all wickedness, Till the vengeance came upon them.

Who heardest the rebuke of the Lord in Sinai, And in Horeb the judgment of vengeance:

the earth with goodness. And as for this fragrant tree no mortal is permitted to touch it till the great judgement, when He shall take vengeance on all and bring (everything) to its consummation
