Very clear explanations offered. Course was both interesting and informative

Good starting point for anyone who has never heard of the early church writings, or is confused about why they would be relevant for us today

Very good information on what I consider an important topic. In dealing with Catholics their argument is you’re either catholic or Protestant and Protestant are wrong. I don’t consider myself Protestant and this class reinforced my beliefs. I have much more to learn.

Good introductory lessons on how to think correctly, apologetics on why studying the historic beliefs and practices of the ante-Nicene church is valuable, etc. I am not sure it actually succeeds in explaining "What is the Historic Christian Faith?" As someone who has been reading David Bercot and early church primary sources for years, I understand it is a deep topic. But I think new seekers might left confused what exactly the main differences are in both theological dogma (or lack thereof) and interpretation of the practical teaching of Jesus and the Apostles. A better title might be "Introduction to why the Historic Christian Faith Matters."

Very good review. Filled in some of the gaps that I had in my understanding of the Early Church Fathers. The contrast between Ante and Post were very helpful.

This has really opened up my world. I have preached the Kingdom for years. I praise God for giving Guidence up to now I felt there was very few people who knew the TRUTH. While I referred to some Early Church Writings, Brother Bercot has opened a New World of information, "VALIDATING" the WORD. I have so much more confidence in my understanding, but as always now the more I know the more he has shon me I DON'T KNOW. I feel so much better about my ability to find and Navigate the Early Church Teachings. Thank You Brother Bercot and GOD BLESS

This course has reinforced what I had been learning about the early Christians.

This course helped me become more grounded in the basics of Bible study and will be helpful in defending the faith. I don't find this type of information to be readily available so it is a blessing to have it all in one place.

I have not spent a lot of time learning about the early Church. I have read many quotes from early Christians but have never really considered what they could teach us about early Christian life.
This course has opened my eyes to a time period that is very relevant to us.

The thought that the faith was successfully pass down after the apostles died is inspiring to me.

This course lays an excellent foundation for learning from the ante-nicene church fathers.

Love how this lesson digs deeper bro the earliest of the Church, sending light on man’s efforts to pervert the Gospel to benefit their ungodly pursuits in the world. It’s astonishing to me that most likely the pre Nicene writings were not tampered with, because if someone would have wrote what is in their letters they would have been burnt at the stake. Excellent lesson! Thank you! God bless!

After going through this course I have to say that this is a great intro to the historic Faith. Personally the first module where David Bercot discuss about critical thinking skill was the most helpful because a) I was already familiar with many of the topic that David Bercot discuss throughout the course) I always look for new way to improve my critical thinking skills

I enjoyed this course and learning about the validity of the writings of the Early Christian fathers.

Were the Apostles failures? Excellent teaching. Very convincing. I liked the set up… how you easily exposed certain Jehovah’s Witness doctrines as being wrong, which would get all the mainstream christians on board; but then you showed how modern christians do the exact same thing, denying the historic faith when it contradicts their modern beliefs. Let us be willing to back up and consider these things. Let us be like David when he was confronted by Nathan the prophet.

I appreciated this particular course because of the good foundation that it lays for other subjects. As soon as we move away from the premise of a complete and unchanging faith, for example, our belief system can develop in all kind of directions, but we will not see our new beliefs as wrong.

Why did God create people, for gods glory, And for relationship. I didn’t appreciate the parallel between God and people with the issue of glory.

I thought this course would be really boring as I am familiar with the topics. However, It really kept my attention and there were things I had never heard of before and facts that I never knew.

I appreciated this opportunity to lay a firm foundation.

More than anything this series taught me critical thinking. Instead of just believing dogma, actually know and understand both sides, then after weighing the evidence decide which is true.

I highly recommend these courses because they point us back to the original faith, the pure unadulterated Word of God. It's scary how many different ways the devil distorts the minds of people, all because we don't want to take God's Word for what it really says! May we all lift high the royal banner of truth, march onward with our fellow soldiers, and damage satan's kingdom!

The contrast between the pre-Nicene Christians' emphasis on discipleship and reformers' emphasis on theology serves as a timeless reminder for all who seek to follow Jesus - the Word is to become flesh in us the way it did in our Lord.

This course is great and helps you know the information you never knew. for me, it has helped me answer most questions I have always had in past as a Christian. The most interesting part which stood out for me was women covering there head. Never had a clue till now

For any one who really wants become a true desciple of Jesus christ and he is willing to know and to follow what he directly tells us to do without proof texting the scriptures in favour of how we want to live our lives following all the false doctrines that have evolved for centuries procaliming the they have a new revelation from GOD.... create time make research about what you believe of which you will get to know how the ear;y christians lived there lives and indeed i tell you that you will never be same again if you decide to take this choice. thak you.

I have been aware of David's work for many years and read at least one of his books. I appreciate the courses ability to challenge the way I think, and help me to respectfully question the status quo.

This course was fascinating in that I have up, until discovering this material, heard so little about the early Christians, and it makes sense to me that they ought to be a resource by which we can better understand the teachings of Jesus and his apostles in the NT. The course was refreshing in that I’m so used to hearing scholars and theologians perform acrobatics around passages and ideas in order to make sense of them, when for the most part many of these passages shouldn’t be that hard to understand. I’m grateful to have taken this intro course and looking forward to diving into other material.

Best place to start studying Early Christian writers

I am relatively new to early church history, but I appreciated the topics covered in this course.

This course opened up my eyes to many things I hadn't thought about before related to Christianity. It will whet your spiritual appetite for learning more and being an obedient disciple of Christ.

This course was an excellent introduction to the historic faith. Akl information in this course was consistent and relevant and helpful for a person to understand the value of learning from the early Christian writings to gain a more accurate understanding of scripture.

The first message I enjoyed the most. As Christian's we need to Think, if we want to engage with the real world. It was great to have more history and I loved to have it on audio so I could listen while doing other things. Its important for us us to know where our faith comes from and how it developed in good and bad ways

I am so glad I made the effort to listen to the series. This was was for me one of the most revealing bible courses I took. It challenged a whole lot of my own prejudices and biases. This will lead me to have a healthy skepticism in what I hear from the pulpit. We are so in need of thinking believers who is genuinely interested in knowing the true historic faith.

I am very novice in terms with theology, doctrine or such things. That's why I am very eager to expand my knowledge. This course definitely gave me a good foundation. Praise Jesus for this and for everyone behind this!

I was extremely impressed with the evidence and testimony of the faith having been fully revealed in the lifespan of the apostles. This is a strong foundation for using a biblical defense in the face of those who claim extrabiblical revelation.

It's great! I enjoyed the whole thing. My faith has blossomed since I found the Didache a few short weeks ago, which led eventually to Scroll Publishing's YouTube channel which led me here. I'm also really happy that they have a track for people like me who can't afford to pay. But if that ever changes I will pay in a heartbeat because this stuff is easily the best, most effective teaching I've ever heard.
