This is a thought-provoking and well-researched book both on the history of the American colonial and early infependence period, as well as a Christian analysis on the most egregious moral failings that underpinned those who led the coloniew and subsequent country. David Bercot pointedly and honestly evaluated how the thrust of early American leadership in practically every major event betrayed an anti-Christian worldview and ethic devoid of basic moral teachings of Christ, and how we Christians ought to respond biblically. As a homeschooled kid who was indoctrinated into the same pseudo-Christian curriculums that Bercot criticizes, it is sobering and necessary that Bercot equips us not to blindly teach our own children blatant lies or defense of failed, immoral ideals contrary to Christ. While I delayed in reading this due to it not touching almost at all on ante-Nicene Christianity, it is one of David Bercot’s most well-written books that I think should convince any open-minded Christian who is careful to actually trust and obey God their Father.
