Description

Lyrics- Oh Lord, be gracious unto us. Oh Lord, be gracious unto us. We wait for You. We wait for You. Oh Lord, be gracious unto us. Oh Lord, be gracious unto us. We wait for You. We wait for You. Be our arm in the morning, For the Lord is exalted on high, And He will fill Zion, And He will fill Zion with righteousness. And He will be your sure foundation, and He will be your sure foundation. Oh Lord, be gracious unto us. Oh Lord, be gracious unto us. We wait for You. We wait for You. We wait for You.

O Lord, Be Gracious

Words by Drew RothMusic by Drew Roth

Oh Lord, be gracious unto us.
Oh Lord, be gracious unto us.
We wait for You.
We wait for You.

Oh Lord, be gracious unto us.
Oh Lord, be gracious unto us.
We wait for You.
We wait for You.

Be our arm in the morning,
For the Lord is exalted on high,
And He will fill Zion,
And He will fill Zion with righteousness.
And He will be your sure foundation,
and He will be your sure foundation.

Oh Lord, be gracious unto us.
Oh Lord, be gracious unto us.
We wait for You.
We wait for You.
We wait for You.

Story Behind the Song

This appears to be a contemporary choral Scripture setting by Drew Roth rather than a traditional congregational hymn with a standard tune name. The text closely paraphrases Isaiah 33:2, 5-6, a prayer for the Lord to be gracious, to be the strength of his people, and to establish Zion in righteousness. I do not know a documented publication date or hymnal history for the song.
