He is my steadfast love and my fortress,
My stronghold and my Deliverer,
He is my shield and He in whom I take refuge.
Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
What is the son of man, that You care for him?
Man is like a breath, his days are like a passing shadow.

Bow down your heavens, O Lord, and come down.
Touch the mountains, that they may smoke and tremble.
Cast forth Your lightning and scatter them,
Shoot out Your arrows and destroy them.
Send down Your hand from on high and rescue me.
