Bible Verses About Transubstantiation And Eucharistic Presence

Early Christian writings strongly say the Eucharist is more than ordinary bread and wine. Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Ignatius, Cyprian, Clement of Alexandria, and others connect the bread and cup with Christ’s body and blood, and several say believers should receive them with reverence. The Bible passages most often tied to this teaching are John 6, Luke 22, and 1 Corinthians 10–11, where Jesus speaks of his flesh and blood and warns about receiving the bread and cup wrongly.

The evidence is broad and early, but the exact later term "transubstantiation" is not used in these cards, so the strongest claim is about real Eucharistic presence and sacred change language, not a later technical definition. Some early writers also use symbolic or typological language, so the details are mixed even though the main witness is consistent.
