Bible Verses About The Voice Of God And Revelation

Early Christian writers linked God’s voice and revelation to Scripture, prophecy, and the living Word, especially in John, Revelation, and the Old Testament. Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Theophilus of Antioch, Lactantius, Novatian, Victorinus, and Hippolytus all speak of God revealing himself by his voice, by the prophets, or through Christ as the Word. The strongest and broadest pattern is that God speaks and reveals;

the evidence is thinner on a single technical doctrine of “the voice of God,” because many passages are comments on single verses or speak of Christ as the Word rather than teaching directly on revelation itself. Some passages are only loose lexical matches, but the core witnesses consistently treat divine speech and revelation as real, authoritative, and tied to Scripture.
