Bible Verses About The Nativity Of Jesus

Early Christians strongly taught that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit and that his birth was a real human birth, not a myth or illusion. Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Origen, Tatian, Lactantius, and others repeat this from the Gospels, especially Matthew 1:18, Matthew 1:25, Luke 1:35, Luke 2:7, and Isaiah 7:14. They also connect his birth to Bethlehem and the manger, and some writers use the nativity to defend Jesus as both truly man and truly Son of God.

The witness is broad and early, though a few passages are only background, liturgical, or typological.
