Bible Verses About The Lord's Prayer

Early Christians treated the Lord’s Prayer as the Lord’s own model prayer and prayed it as a real pattern, not just a text to quote. Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, and Cyprian all connect it to Christ’s teaching, with Cyprian giving the clearest early explanation of its petitions and saying it was a shared prayer for the whole people. The strongest and broadest witness is the opening and main body of the prayer:

"Our Father," God’s name being hallowed, God’s kingdom and will, daily bread, forgiveness, and help in temptation. Evidence is thinner for later liturgical details like how often or in what exact form every church used it, and some passages are only background or loose references to prayer in general.
