Bible Verses About The Epistle To The Hebrews

Early Christian writers clearly knew the Epistle to the Hebrews and often quoted it, but these sources do not give a clean, broad witness for one single belief about the book. Origen uses Hebrews often and even says some copies differ in wording, while Gregory Thaumaturgus and others quote it as Scripture for teaching about salvation and the heavenly sanctuary. There is also an important author question:

Clement of Alexandria and Origen connect Hebrews with Paul, but other later writers in the set leave the authorship unclear or anonymous. The strongest passages are a mix of direct quotation, traditions about the author, and weakly related Hebrew or Jewish background material.
