Bible Verses About Persia And The Persians

Early Christian writers usually mention Persia in three main ways: as a real empire in biblical history, as the land ruled by Cyrus and later kings, and as a place where pagan fire worship and Magi were known. Hippolytus, Irenaeus, Cyprian, Minucius Felix, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Tertullian, Lactantius, and Tatian all refer to Persia or the Persians in these ways. Some passages are direct Bible readings or Bible-based interpretation, especially Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, and the Daniel 7–8 kingdom visions.

The evidence is broad for Persia as a historic kingdom and for Persian Magi or fire worship, but thin for any single detailed early Christian “belief about Persia” beyond those recurring themes.
