Bible Verses About Medicine And Medical Science

Early Christian writers treated medicine as a real human skill that could help the body, while still saying God was the true healer. Writers like Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Tertullian, Tatian, Cyprian, and Arnobius spoke of physicians, remedies, herbs, surgery, and healing as useful parts of ordinary life. They also used medicine as a picture for spiritual care, comparing Christ and church leaders to a physician who heals the sick.

The evidence is broad and repeated, but it is mostly indirect about medical science itself, since many passages use medicine as an analogy rather than a direct teaching about the field.
