Bible Verses About Judgment Day

Early Christian writers taught that Judgment Day is a future event when Christ or God will judge all people, raise the dead, and give each person what they deserve. Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Athenagoras, Tertullian, Cyprian, Lactantius, and Origen all speak this way, and Polycarp also points to the judgment seat of Christ. The teaching is broad and consistent: the righteous will receive life or reward, while the wicked face punishment, fire, or shame.

Some writers also connect Judgment Day with the resurrection of the dead and with Christ’s return in glory. The evidence is strong for a future final judgment, but details like the exact sequence of end-time events are more mixed across authors.
