Bible Verses About Evangelism And Preaching The Gospel

Early Christians taught that the gospel should be preached, sent out, and spread to all nations, and they tied that work to Jesus and the apostles rather than to human skill or rhetoric. Origen, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, and Cyprian all connect gospel preaching with apostolic authority, hearing, and the mission of the church. The Bible passages here are broad and clear, especially Matthew 9:35, Romans 10:14-15, Mark 16:15, and Matthew 24:14, and the early writers often quote or echo them.

The evidence is strong on the duty to preach and the wide reach of the message, but it is thinner on a detailed theory of evangelism methods. A few passages are only loose background or word-matches, so the main teaching is best read from the direct witnesses and the direct Bible texts.
