Bible Verses About Eternal Punishment

Early Christian writers repeatedly taught that final punishment is real, conscious, and everlasting for the wicked. Justin Martyr, Theophilus of Antioch, Irenaeus, Hippolytus, Tertullian, Cyprian, and Lactantius all speak of eternal fire, endless torment, or the second death for those who refuse God. Matthew 25:46 is a key Bible passage behind this teaching, and Mark 9:44-48 and Revelation 20:10-15 are also used often.

The evidence is broad across the 2nd and 3rd centuries, though a few cards are only Bible quotations or background links rather than direct early Christian comments.
