What exactly is this talking about? What does it mean to have your speech savored with grace(favor)? And making the most of the time with outsiders?

By having a broad knowledge of very diverse matters regarding our present age or life (sophia); be ready to answer anyone who asks you a question but answer in a spirit of graciousness or gentleness, and not withholding the preserving Truth of the gospel from them as the ultimate answer. That is what I see and read as I look into the language used in the Greek and the context from which this is taken.
I am open to hear what others know about this as I am not a scholar.
