Our family uses Christian Light Education as our base curriculum, which we supplement with other curriculums like Apologia and Abeka.

We use Apologia mostly for science, as CLE doesn't have a very good version of that.
We do The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts, and really like it! It covers grammar, spelling, geography, picture studying, literature, and with a strong emphasis on writing. Also, they offer Levels 1 to 5 free if you download and print them.
Their science looks good, but we already have apologia, so we don't use it.
For math, we do Math U See, which we also really like! If you would do it, I would definitely recommend getting the instruction DVD'S.
Apologia is my favorite science. So far we haven't found anything we like better...
We are having one major problem with all curriculum out there....we believe the Bible portrays a very different picture of our world than most of the world believes. I have heard good things about Apologia but I just can't bring myself to teach what all the science courses teach.
We use a variety of curricula options with some being faith-based (I especially appreciate Christian Light Publishers for reading) and some being secular. However, I teach every subject from the perspective of God as the creator of all things...and whether or not choices made in history lined up with a Biblical perspective...etc...etc...
I've homeschooled for over 20 years and I used to obsess over curriculum - wanting to make just the right choices, but now I try to relax and enjoy our school time (as well as the rest of everyday life) as an opportunity to walk the pilgrim road with my children.
Like you, we have found that most "Christian curriculum" isn't what we see the Bible define as "Christian."
Best wishes to you!
